The scheme for post-matriculation scholarship for students belonging to the minority communities received a headstart with the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) giving its approval for the 100 per cent Centrally sponsored scheme. The scheme, to be launched in the 2007-08 fiscal, is targeting 15 lakh scholarships for the 11th Plan. It will be awarded to students from minority communities who fulfil the merit-cum-means criteria in government or private schools, co lleges or universities. The scheme will have an incurring expenditure of Rs 1,530 crore during the Plan and will be implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
It will be simplistic as well as unwise to portray it as a case of secularism versus Hindutva. The message from Gujarat is that people want to see in their leaders the time-honoured values of intellectual honesty, personal integrity, performance-oriented governance and straight dealing. They do not any longer want to put up with politicians who speak differently from different corners of the mouth and soft-pedal the looming dangers to the nation from hostile forces and traitorous groups.For, regardless of what the political and media pundits may say, from the people%u2019s perspective, nothing can be more excruciatingly oppressive than a government that does not govern or a government of the crooks, by the crooks and for the crooks.

Its hight to remove Sonia, Rahul immediately and congress should stop licking Gandhi/Nehdu family if they want to see more democracy in the party as well as in the Contry; if they want Indians accept congress better.
Present congress leaders and Ministers are pre-paid customer of Sonia Maino Gandhi.

If we vote sincerely, we will get a government we deserve. I am sure at least 50% of the people who discuss here won't go for poll booth on polling day.

The guys who are present here are most likely to vote for some party if it can be casted over the net. I personally don't feel like going to booths, voter ID card is not a easy process too... don't know what the government wants, it requires some company of repute like TCS, Infosys, WIpro etc - the current system is very cumbersome, I hate it.

I agree with you 100% Mr Reddy. IT has lost its charm. As you've a background of IT, you'll do well in practically any field of your interest. You are not most likely to get white associates in India.

"Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who was the party's star campaigner in the Gujarat elections ..." ha ha ha... any more reason needed for the defeat... the starting lines makes it clear.
Its high time if congress party throw Sonia (firingee) and Rahul (Hybrid) immediately out to save its face. Otherwise Congress party will like a fossile soon.
