During Election
by BVR Murthy on Dec 11, 2007 06:41 PM  Permalink

How can someone post a message against or for a political outfit when elections are going on in the state? If someone posted against Muslims, there would be a loud secular cry, but if someone posts against Hindus there is nothing? Why there is bias?

Muslims in Gujarat
by mafatlal sheth on Dec 11, 2007 06:40 PM  Permalink

No Innocent Muslim should be harrased, nationalist Muslims should be fully respected. But there are many criminals in Muslims, modi instead of harrasing Innocent Muslims should concentrate on catching anti national Muslims, I remeber in Bhavnagar a mob of Muslims came to destroay Hindu Temple Vithleshwar Mahadev, then Bajrang Dal and VHP came and saved the Temple, such muslims should be shot dead as they are anti nationals and danger to this nation.

SEE LARGER CONTEXT
by Krish Koundy on Dec 11, 2007 06:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I do synthesize with these Muslim citizens who are suffering. But how can they forget that Modis emergence is purely because of Godra Tran burning and atrocities of Muslim leaders in the past. They must also know the attroicites of Muslims against Kashmiri Hindus and Islamic Malaysia suppression of Hindus in that country. Why should any religion sit like a duck and accept Islamic violence? It is time for these Muslims to introspect. What are they doing to educate the own community against Islamic fundamentalism. They don%u2019t have right to speak against Modi if they themselves don%u2019t change.

Why only Gujraat?
by Vishwajeet Kulshreshtha on Dec 11, 2007 06:40 PM  Permalink

Why don't we talk about '84 Delhi riots, '78 Meerut riots in the same breath when talk about Gujraat riots? when Killing anyone is inhumane then why crying about Gujraat only? Will this journalist write about '84 and '78 or give references while writing about Gujraat?
We must look all riots with the same lense and see whether justice was served.

Rediff Reporting is Baised
by BahujanHitay BahujanSukhay on Dec 11, 2007 06:39 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Friends, there are other states similar to Gujrat, going to poll but Rediff is acting in baised way of reporting only about Gujrat. Moreover, it is showing that only two parties are contesting in this election i.e. BJP and Congress. The coverage given to BJP shows that Rediff is very much interested in BJP, may be due to financial support they might be getting from BJP. But as the website is in public domain we are entitle to know from Rediff about other parties contesting in these elections not only in Gujrat but other states also. It is our fundamental right to know from public portal like Rediff to know about manifesto of these parties so that while casting our votes we can do justice to us. Also, other state's people are watching democratic process happening at states going to poll so that they can make up their mind for comming Lok Sabha election. They can judge on the basis of manifesto of the party and crendetial of candidates to fulfill that manifesto. But seeing reporting on Rediff we can say that we are constrained to only BJP. This is dangerous for democractic process. Hope Rediff will report in unbiased way about other states and the parties contesting these elections.

Rediff is not intrested in BJP, it is more inclined to CONGRESS favourism. The above article is favouring religion, which is not good.Even I don't know how far this article is true.

RE:What Aurangzeb did to Hindus under his rule, Modi is doing the same to Muslims except the fact that we do not pay jaziya (tax levied during Aurangzeb's rule on Hindus)-- Not Really !!

How do you account for the fact that temples exist in Bundelkhand which got big grants from Aurangzeb. He was only doing what was considered right in the politics of the time.Living in the 21st century I believe it is difficult to imagine things - we are bound to oversimplify the facts.
