Salute Kanshiram the leader of Untouchables !
by Mahendra Pagare on Oct 09, 2006 01:19 PM  Permalink

I Mahendra Pagare pay tribute to BSP founder Kanshiram. He was great visionary, who worked for uplifment of dalits in the country. And also true follower Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution and great social reformer of all time in the world. He founded BSP in 1984 for giving dalits the political power. Since then dalits are coming ahead and participating in the mainstream of development.
In this way I and my Pagare family pay tribute to him on the occasion of his passing away from the world.

My salute to Kanshi, who influenced the political debate of the country in a big way. It may be an exaggeration to suggest that he had altered the political agenda of India. But he and the movement he founded have become a force to reckon with. He had relived the Dalit quest for empowerment..who brought back Ambedkarite ideals to the political centre stage.

this day will be remembered as a black day in indian history as mother india has lost its greatest son, a messiah who dominated indian political scenerio to empower dalits without any benefit for himself and kept his promises to serve and work for the upliftment of downtroddens by living unmarried propertyless and homeless
for me he is a rolemodel for every politician of india and the whole word

Opportunistic Politics
by Dhananjay Kotnala on Oct 09, 2006 01:01 PM  Permalink

Kashi Ram did not look beyond his Vote Bank. He was very opportunistic and loved to have Elections Again and Again at TaxPayers Cost. India has not lost Anything with his demise.

Tribute to Manyawar Kanshiram
by rajeshkatulkar on Oct 09, 2006 12:32 PM  Permalink

An endevour is regarded as a great achievement if it is done by a layman who applies his expertise to reach to the top.Manyawar Kanshiramji was one such great personality. He is considered as a great emancipator of Bahujans and Dalits second only after Babasaheb Ambedkar. His biggest soical achivement is that he spread the ideology of Phule-Ambedkar-Shahu-Pariyar in the North India, where these icons except Ambedkar were lesser known.Kanshiram ji's life was a mission he lived for this utmost soical service by teaching and providing social dignity to dalits and backwards.he was not awarded by any human rights groups but a true Champion and utomost eligible personality for the the Highest Human rights Award ,in any.He has proven that with consistant planning and hard work with a fearless mind you can reach to your goals.I think the world will remember his achievements as another bloodless social revolution. He gave thoughts and spread the message if right to live with dignity, among all those who were made to live the life of mental servitude. He had his stye of social engineering and no doubt he made depressed clases to learn that "Political power is the Master key ". My condolances.

late kanshi ram
by Deepak Shah on Oct 09, 2006 12:22 PM  Permalink

Kanshi Ram's objective (social upliftment of Dalits by cornering political power) may have been noble, however, its outcome, as time has shown, has been tragically flawed.

Politicians (cutting across party lines)get themselves elected to positions of power on the plank of being a dalit or "backward class".

However, amongst the first actions they take upon assuming power is to amass tremendous wealth through naked corruption and complete disregard for the law of the land. Most lead vulgar and ostentetious life styles that would put maharajahs of the past to shame. His own proteges are a prime example of this behaviour.

It is a tragedy for India's dalits and other poor that the vision of noble men like Dr.Ambedkar and now Kanshi Ramji have been hijacked for nearly 60 years by lesser mortals who have enriched themselves while their supporters have remained impoversihed.

May his soul rest in peace.
