If Bombing in assembly - Delhi, did not move our politicians, do you think this thick skinned people will have any concern for poor people who are traveling in railways? War can be one by war only. And such activities should be done by us only, who elects such hopeless politicans.

Attacks like these have nothing to do with being Hindu or Muslim. This is a threat to national security. The first step towards a solution is to make sure all Indians realize this.
Our politicians think that acting against terrorist will displease minorities. Till the time the politicians of this country continue to follow the policies of appeasement india will continue to suffer like this. Where on earth you will find the members of majority community leaving like refugees in their own country.

Friend, hot pursuit etc etc are just words which mean nothing. For the SS it means go after helpless Muslims living in the poorest parts of Mumbai and masacre them. For Advani, who was home minister and deputy PM it means nothing at all. The Pakistanis can enter 10 kms into Indian territory and kill innocent civilians and Army men in Kargil and his govt would indulge in scams over it (the coffin scam is out in the open now). These terrorists can attack our temples, our Parliament and hijack our planes while Mr.Advani would ensure that some dreaded terrorists are released with honour taken in an IA plane by our Jaswant mantri. Some Bangladeshi riflemen will kill and mutilate our BSF jawans and India will voice 'its protest'. Period. Thats hot pursuit. If Advani could not do anything being the most powerful minister in the NDA govt for 8 years, who is to blame? the media? Tch tch.
Nice words, but only that. If any Indian politican has decided to show courage, he is instantly shot down by the pseudo liberal Media
Advani talked of hot pursuit to meet derision of the chattering classes. Thackrey's demand of breaking all contacts with Pakistan was dismissed as a half mad ranting of an even madder person.
The likes of this columnist will be the first to cry 'alienation', 'sidelined', 'oppression' and many more such superlatives, once the police nabs even one culprit. The media outrage over the arrest of Geelani of the Parliament Attack fame or the encounter death of Isharat Jahan of Mumbra is simply too vivid to forget
We simply have too many columnists and opinion makers who make their living out of lighting candles at the Wagah Border, denouncing their Indian citizenship, crying 'State sponsored progoms' and defending Maoists, terrorists, in fact anyone indulging in Anti National Activities.
But at least all this shows that we indeed are a pluralistic society, welcoming and accepting our worst enemies. Perhaps the Human Rights Industry will some day wake up to the fact that ordinary people, who are not 'terrorists' have rights too

Rajesh, you sorely miss the point. Knowing your geography doesnt allow you to abuse someone whos making valid points throughout the article.
There are a few things we need to do: 1. We need to beef up our security - may be the easiest of all, given that our army is well equiped to handle it.
2. We need to weed out anti-nationals sitting in our country. This is the tough nut to crack. We have enemies in our midst. And its not easy to spot them out (unlike in US, which got into racial profiling).
3. To re-phrase what Bush said: \"We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbour them, and those dont do anything to track them down.\" We need to get our ministers, MPs and MLAs and the services to be more accountable to us, the people. Its not like they\'re doing us a favor. Its their god-damn duty to maintain security. If an Indian cant travel in peace, what is the state we\'ve plunged ourselves into?
4. The citizens need to be just as accountable (I\'m remembering the Tamil movie Anniyan as I say this). We should track down these in-house monsters with as much vengeance as our hard-working soldiers to do on the border.
You bloody fool ! The 26th January parade is held each year on Rajpath and not on Janpath as mentioned erroneously by you. Doesn't speak much of your awareness levels to say the least.

Look who is foolish! You fret over where is the stupid parade held. It is time you realize that it is not even worth remebering where such a dishonest show is conducted and that too on a day like 26th of January.

I agree with all of it. But, my only concern is that when the operation against the terrorists would start, muslims would be the first to be effected by it. Just like Siekhs when the operations against Seikh terrorists started. Even if a war against Pakistan is started, muslims in India would be blamed for supporting the elements who are against India. What can you expect when a muslim Indian cricket team captain is criticized for losing a cricket series against Pakistan just because he is a muslim.

Hello to every Indian..
What an outstanding article!! You have ignited the fire within my heart to do something for our country.
But, it's the fault of we peoples who elect these corrupt and thick skinned politicians to run our country. It's the time for we people to realise that we are not doing any good by electing those people. See what they are doing to solve the problem of the common people. Insted of taking any firm measures to curb terrorism, they are running the tarins and buses to the country which has attacked India three times. They know that the master-mind of Bombay bomb- blast is hiding in Pakistan, then also they are sitting in the hope that US will do something to help us.
It's the time for us to do something to fight this evil.

rajesh, agreed you are very conversant with where parades are held....but the point the writer is making is far more important than correcting errors like a schoolboy in a quiz contest
Hi this is Amit working as QA Engineer in S/W firm in New Delhi, basically belongs to a small village in M.P.
My firend I totally agree to you but we have elceted them to rule us and that's what they are doing. We are a part of such a big country having diversified culture that we are busy fighting with each of our country-men rather then these terrorists
I totally agree with what Mr.Sivasamy has mentioned. Its now time for raging a war to the enemy camps. There is no point waiting for a peaceful solution.
It should be 'TIT FOR TAT'. After seeing yesterday's massacare of innocent people it would be shameful for us if we do not give them a fitting reply.
Every time there is an attack, we get a feel that (infact we pray that) this time we will hit back, not to show how strong v r, but to stop further such incidents in future, but some how our govt still believes that with peace and an open arms we will win them. Dont know when will they decide like americans that war cant be won without a war. May be that the losses are not big for them, or concerning them. It really pains to see them not taking any step to save the common man walking on roads, travelling in trains (with out any security). God save them.
I completely agree with Mr. Saisuresh....how long will we just keep displaying the nuclear weapons during Jan 26 or 15th August....we should also show the power we have. As the saying goes anything is fair love and war...so should it be. Wage a war against the enemy even though it might be one of the closest ally of the US. Also I would like to bring in a point here... If US is having a WAR against terrorism, then why is it not destroying Pakistan ...for supporting terrorism. This is being double standards by the world superpower...

You are absolutley right, we are in proxy war. To fight this many agencies across the nations should join. Than means a tough leadership, not the guys who change their stance every voting season.
Other way of fighting is build a division in army which is expert in guerilla warfare. Such a division will be more focussed, autonomous less intefered and covert. The basics of the proxy war is fight from inside and live like a civilian.
Dont know why so many so-called learned and highly educated folks cant understand such a basic need. If they already did then lets get it going.
If it is already in process the please make sure that you build something which is effective and not for the name-sake.
Recruit able, young and motivated blood. You will not see results right away but it will be something which will payoff lot more in long run.
India has diverse and talented human capital, use it for this good cause. I think from the time all bueracratic crap and paperwork is done it will take about 3 yrs for a team to be effective and operational. Unlike RAW this team needs to smaller and decentralised with access to national resources. Pretty much like these Terrorist Cells
