Salaam Bombay !

Subject: Letter from Mumbaikar

Dear Terrorist,

Even if you are not reading this we don't care. Time and again you tried

to disturb us and disrupt our life - killing innocent civilians by

planting bombs in trains, buses and cars. You have tried hard to bring

death and destruction, cause panic and fear and create communal

disharmony but everytime you were disgustingly unsuccessful. Do you know

how we pass our life in Mumbai? How much it takes for us to earn that

single rupee? If you wanted to give us a shock then we are sorry to say

that you failed miserably in your ulterior motives. Better look

elsewere, not here.

We are not Hindus and Muslims or Gujaratis and Marathis or Punjabis and

Bengaliies. Nor do we distinguish ourselves as owners or workers, govt.

employees or private employees. WE ARE MUMBAIKERS (Bombay-ites, if you

like). We will not allow you to disrupt our life like this. On the last

few occassions when you struck (including the 7 deadly blasts in a

single day killing over 250 people and injuring 500+ in 1993), we went

to work next day in full strength. This time we cleared everything

within a few hours and were back to normal -

You will continue to weep Mr Sivaswamy as the worthless Government and the political leaders in this country are more interested in shows rather than action.Sonia and her stooges will whizz pass
those hospitals in Mumbai where hundreds of corps are rotting because no one is there to do the autopsy. Those who are badly injured, will have to wait for their turn to die.But our academic Prime
Minister and his inept Home Minister will only give assurances that culprits will be caught. This country
needs leaders of steel,if there is one strike on our citizens, they will retaliate with five.Alas,in a doomed "democracy"like ours, that will never happen.

Yes, this is too much!

As an Indian my blood boils when I see innocent fellow citizens being killed so mercilessly for no fault of theirs. Those who carry out such acts are cowards and enemy of everyone. I am no friend of pakistan but the reality is if India attacks pakistan, their friend the same uncle sam whom the author says acted so decisively when terror struck USA, will come to the rescue of Musharraf. USA has got many standards for every issue or problem or situation as and when it suits American interests. That is why inspite of terrorists kidnapping and killing Americans in PAKISTAN ,USA is still friends with PAKISTAN. It did not attack them rather supports them. USA does not apply the same yardstick for pakistan as the one for IRAQ and Afghanistan. We have to find out some other solution for this menace. A national consensus should be built as to what steps needs to be taken. All the political parties and social organisations and representatives of all religions should be included in the discussion to formulate a policy. And no political party should play any politics for petty electoral gains gains be it Congress or BJP or samajwadi or anybody else. A solution has to come from within.

Tough talk and action needed
by Kiran Hundi on Jul 12, 2006 06:03 PM  Permalink

Mr. Suresh,

I completely agree with your observations on the ever restraint Indian policy & political will to talk tough. Let there be an effort to come farward and reassure the people of this country that we can not just be mute spectators and sufferers to any kind of insurgency further. There has to be some tough talk and action to show that India is no longer be considered as a soft target. Let there be a clear & strong message to the world.

Dear sir
You are absolutely right in your analysis. Our courts has taken more than 13 years to decide mumbai Blast case of 1993 and people involved in that terrorist attack are still at large. Some of them are getting adulation as film actor. Probably it is some thing wrong with us, citizen who do not revolt, force our ruler to protect us from such act of terrorism.

Is this enough

Unfortunately India will have to see much more to sate the thirst of the Marxist-liberal intelligensia and the Marxist-Leftist NGO Industry.

Very well said enough is enough but we cannot compare problem of India with problem of America.
1) There was no territory of America at dispute
2) India is far different Nation then America.

Also please take into account the difference in power between the two enemies at war.
Its really true that we the Indians always cry for problems rather than hitting the root cause and finding the solutions.
Another thing there is no big enemy other than the concept the thought to hit India, why do our politicians (be it any side) be so provocative finally its we the common people who suffer because of someone's provocation.
Its in every Indians hand to maintain a harmony no matter how hard someone tries to distrupt it, end of thought is the end of terror itself.

And atlast visit of VVV...VIP leaders in India to the sites of attack rarely but what else can they do.

What are our polititians doing?

Why the cases on renouned personalities involved in 93 blasts are still going on?

Why the laws are not made to complete the enquiries and give final judgement of such crucial cases in a specified period (say 1 yr)?

Ultimate Doubt: Are our polititians involved?
