knee jerk reactions
by ilias on Jul 20, 2006 10:08 PM  Permalink

The perpetrators of 9/11 were Saudis, did the US do anything about them?
US attacked Afganistan, a nation that could not possibly strike back, then it took the opportunity to attack Iraq on trumped up reasons.
One has to act within limits of reason, it is easy to make bellicose, foolhardy statements.
India can and should react, but reactions that could fuel the issues rather than resolving them ought to be avoided

Enough is enough???
by Rustom Dalal on Jul 20, 2006 08:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India and Pakistan have been artificially created by the British divide and rule policy. A policy which even USA today adheres to between Pakistan and India.
If Bush really means business, why cannot the combined forces of the Western world track down Bin Laden ? He was once a US ally and there is still a hidden agenda.

Pakistan has never forgiven us for liberating Bangla Desh, which too today remains hostile to us.

Lord Budhha said Hatred can never be conquered by hatred but only by love. If we cannot frustrate the terrorists by our tolerance, the only solution is to unite with Pakistan, by dialogue..media blitzes on both sides aimed at the common man that we are ONE people..or finally by war, with the blessings of the Western powers, if they will give them !! A united Indian subcontinent is a threat which they dont want to face.

Enough is realy Enough
by Bhavik Doshi on Jul 20, 2006 11:12 AM  Permalink

This article spoke every word in my mind... Before glorifying US for waging war, lets examine their double standards.. Though US bombed Afghanistan a month later 9/11, it still wants India to resent and rely on evidences to make any move..

This statement is made by a country who bombed Iraq without evidence of weapons it claimed Iraq had... Even US weapon inspectors were not heeded when they said that Iraq did not have any weapons after a thorough inspectection...

Its high time India get out of the 'Gandhi' mode of non violence and stand up against terrorists and country which groom them.. There is no point of doing weapon testing if you not going to use it.. Might as well give it to Isrealis who bombed the country which held their soldiers as hostage...

I am not justifying the violence but underlining basic rule of war.. If enemies hits, you can only win by retaliation and not dialogues.

The terorrists who caused the train bombings are in India. So can we call them Indian-aided terorrists.
Similiarly there are terorrists based in Pakistan. But how do you know they are being aided by the Pakistan government or not. The Pakistan government may or may not be aiding them, but I wont go by the words of any Indian politician. They know Indians are angry and they are under pressure to name someone responsible for the blasts.

Moreover, Pakistan, or rather Musharraf is seriously fighting terorrists and fundamentalists in his own country. Even the Pakistan forces are hot on the heels of Laskar e Tayeba. Thats why the terrorists tried to even attack Musharraf twice. For us, he is much better to deal with, then Nawaz Sharif or Benazir were The one thing positive about not having elections in Pakistan is that Musharraf doesnt have to play to the galleries, especially to the fundamentialist elements.

There seems to be no anger in general Pakistani public against India. Indian films are very popular there. Almost everyone says "bole to" out there. So why should should we create an atmosphere of hate.

Lets clean India first and then blame our neighbours.

Do you know think before you write or do you just let your belly rumble? Indian aided terrorists? Only a pakistani can dream of that concept. Our house is in disorder because we can take straight action against these fanatics and show them that ur public is not to be messed with. Only when you hit them hard do they know that there action will have consequences. As for Musharaf, why would he want to dismantle terrorism? If he does there is nothing he can play the Americans with. All the debts canceling ring a bell. Without the terrorists do you think India would regard his criticism regarding Kashmir. They have to be told. Kashmir will not be parted with and its NON NEGOTIABLE. We do not negotiate our borders. If you want it fight for it is the message to be sent. Use military strikes agaisnt these camps and be ready to fight the pakis. There isnt another way, the faster you realise the better it is. Lot of people saying we cant shock and awe pakis because they are nuclear is pure bull. We have a stronger military on all three fronts, let that not be forgotten and we have atleast thrice as many nukes.

Dumb writing, dumber replies
by Pure Desi on Jul 20, 2006 03:01 AM  Permalink

I used to think, there can be no dumber people than our politicians. But reading all the views here has proved me wrong.

For all their folly, fortunately our politicians are not as dumb as the majority of the people who have posted messages here. What people are mistaking for cowardice is actually traces of wisdom among the politicians. As its very easy for them to pass an order for a war, as its for the people here to demand for it. But the politicians know the consequenses of a war (with Pakistan)

And you are all suffering from acute case of delusion. India is not US ! And Pakistan is no Iraq or Palestine.

Someonee here, going by the name Tushar said, that the author expresses the view of each and every Indian. My congratulations to Tushar for having spoken to 1 Billion people.

Another wise man said even his nephew believes Pakistan is behind it. By any chance his nephew heads CBI ? or does he go to school ? Fortunately again India is not run by this man. His security advisor probably would have been his school going nephew.

Pakistan has its own share of terorrism and they are too trying to fight it. So lets not jump to conclusions.

Hey great patriots, please join the Indian Army
by Asutosh Pandit on Jul 20, 2006 02:35 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hey, by the way, all those who want war, please leave your plush high paying jobs and enroll in the Indian army. Dont expect others to give their lives for your whims and fancies ! Our soldiers are much more precious. And ask them - they dont want war, only guys sitting in the confines and comfort of their A/C offices want war. So please go and fight it yourself.

signing off - an exasperated Indian.

Lets not get carried away - The final word
by Asutosh Pandit on Jul 20, 2006 02:25 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

FINAL WORD

a) All those sitting in US and talking about war with Pakistan. Please come back to India and lets get nuked together. Or are you planning to sit down in front of TV, with a mug of Beer in your house in US, while watching Indian cities being being nuked, on CNN

b) Well, we claim we got Bangaldesh its freedom. Remember that was a part of Pakistan before that. Doesnt it seem too similiar to what Pakistan is doing to us now ? Tit for tat. We asked for it.

c) You cannot push someone for long. There are bound to be reprisals. This is the result of the Gujarat Riots. Thousands lost their families, their wives and children chopped and burnt. Again we asked for it !

d) All the hatred and sense of revenge in you guys, is going to create more terorrists Again we are on the way for asking for it ! The vicious cycle of hatred and revenge has to stop then only we can stop terorrism. There is no other way. In a war, we will get demolished from within.

e) No politician has a right to kill in my name. Or my religion's name. They are no greater Hindus than me. Infact I challenge them, or any of the rioters to a Q&A on Vedas, Shastra and the Upanishad.

Jai Hind

lets not get carried away
by Asutosh Pandit on Jul 20, 2006 02:08 AM  Permalink

I am sorry to be back again. I am sure my views are not amongst the popular ones. Yet, reading one message after the other, I am forced to react to them.
I have read here people quoting several instances of previous attacks as a reason to attack our neighbours or do some stupid hot pursuit.
My blood boils too. And I have tried to visualise what if my family member was on the train. I would be raging wild. I would want the culprits to be hung in middle of the streets. But only the perpertuators. And I have to be sure who they are.
Are you all personally sure who has done this. Are you all sure who was behind the Parliament attack ? Are you sure when the two supposed armed terrorists gunned down by Indian police at Ansal Plaza were really terorrists ? Because they didnt seem to have fired any rounds at all. Died without a fight.

Are you sure, whatever is being told to us, is the truth. Do you think we are an absolutely saintly country and the rest are terorrists ?

Being a patriot doesnt mean being blind. You are all educated I gather, but howcome you are still practicing blind faith. Dont point finger at Pakistan, but at our own leaders, esp at Modi. And at our ownselves.

lets keep our reasoning intact
by Asutosh Pandit on Jul 20, 2006 01:47 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We are all feeling angry and helpless, but lets not create such an environment that will give rise to more terorrists.
For anything negative happening in India, we blame Pakistan. The fact is, there are more blasts in Pakistan every year. Are we to be blamed for that ?

Blame the Gujarat riots. Blame the hatred we feel for each other within our country. We should blame ourselves.

I can see from the words people have spoken here, and from their atittudes, that the terorrists have won. Because this is exactly what they wanted.

My dear friends, you are all to be blamed for the bombings. Dont always try to seek an answer that you find easy to digest. We are not the US, they are just facing external threats. If we try to ape them , we will take our nation to doom. We will divide India from inside. No war can save a nation that is being divided from inside. All your views about war scares me. With even the educated getting brain washed, we dont need an external aggressor. You guys are doing their work.

We are not US I repeat. We are a far greater country, or at least we were. The terorrists have have not managed to make me hang my head in shame, but you guys have.

Why blame only Gujrat riots dear.....I hope you have got enough brains and reasoning why riots happened in Gujrat. If not then go and brush your so called memory.Meantime I will try to make u clear that riots happened because of Godhra incident.Didnt ur head hang in shame for that incident...no probably ur kin didnt burn in the train. Why a small piece of land has been denied to Hindu minorities in kashmir--- do u have any valid reason for that.External threat is turing into reality becasue of internal support who help these terrorists...so whats wrong for calling for the heads of these traitors. We also want have peace not war.
Pls answwer these question before preaching ur nonsense.
History has proved time and again that whenver we have helped anybody,we have got nothing but terrorism, treachery in return. Why we need to pardon these terrorists like Afzal Guru who are good for nothing for India and world.
And yes Muslims are the one responsible for dividing India. We gave them the shelter,we gave them they money as a result of which Pakistan has survived. Why ru concerned about whats happening in Pakistan.R we repsonsible for their pathetic state. These Muslims still harbour hatred and want to take revenge for what happened during partition claiming that their community has suffered most while the fact remains that both sides suffered.
So please dont turn a blind eye towards these traitors. They support each other and Pakistan terrorist groups.
TIT for TAT is the need of the ho
