i appreciate every word the author has written. kindness and yes even ahimsa are good words and even greater acts but they have no place in todays world where terrorists are killing innocent people every day in almost some country or the other in the name of some movement to justify their cruelty. sometimes strength lies in forgiveness but sometimes it can also be a weakness. please let us cut out this diplomacy and pseudo "kindness" and get to work eliminating these anti social, inhuman elements. i hope to god there is a special hell reserved for them.
We are missing a point here.. USA can target its enemies anyhere in world purely because of its economic might and its dubious diplomatic (effective, still to larger extent) policies. We are still a growing nation with neither sufficient funds nor enough intelligence/power to carry out such a mission.
However, it simply cannot be ignored that we have still not brought accused of 1993 incident to justice. It still pains much as an Indian.
And it is of utmost importance that as a nation we stand united to fight against irrational and erratic terrorists. Time for stern action against these inhuman enemies.
It was a shameful, disgusting and cowardly act of terror. My deepest condolences to the martyr Mumbaikars..
You are absolutely right. However the indian pcsyche will not change and when slapped on one cheek we will continue to offer the other cheek to the terrorists.
What do you do ?? When elections come, how many young people stand to fight elections ... none. You vote for these elderly and to be precise ... old people and you expect they will fight for the Nation, no way, they will never, they want to live in peace with 100s of security personnal escorting them and enjoying foregin trips on our money.
We have been like this for 50 years and will continue for the next 150 yers.
We Indians are to be blamed. We continue to vote for those politicians (ex-mafias or landlords) who Surrender to minority community to get votes and play with sentiments of Hindus. Politicians are interested to divide india on religion and caste basis for them to have long run. We the youth must try hard to eleiminate those politicians through voting.
That is one great view expressed by Saisuresh Sivaswamy in a beautiful language. In a country whose citizens lack guts even to openly express their strong views in matters like this, it is a welcome change. In fact, he has expressed all I wanted to, but could not.
There is nothing new in the behavior of Indian politicians. They are one lot of self servers who lack guts to take decisive action in a crisis, in the name of tolerance. These politicians will now deliver stale speeches scripted by some bureaucrat in their ministry, and then go about with their more important tasks of making personal wealth, and creating national controversies to keep the people engaged in.
May be, we need a lady like Indira Gandhi at the top. Israel has sent its army to get back its one solder, taken captive by the terrorists. That shows the value it attaches to its citizens. Our politicians care for nothing, as long as their seats and the future of their kith and kin are secure. We are a peace-loving country!
