The only time India showed its prowess in the face of adversity was Kargil and the December attack of the Parliament. The first one was decisive one and it owes to the indomitable courage and sacrifice of Indian youth in the garb of Young Army officers and men. The second although projected as an attack on the Indian Sovereignity, did not adequately match with full action and was left in limbo. The nation definitely has to awakwen and take actionable and effective measures much more than what has been done by U.S because, unfortunatley in our country such mammoth issue is given a deft handling through political tool all the time and allowed to lapse soon from public memory. The youth has now to organise itself to bring that awareness of vigilance and opinion building. The political parties have to rise above their partisan politics and mobilise the national will. The social organisations and Human Rights activists should look more practically into the aspects of Human Rights violations perpetrated day after day by the terrorists. An above all the country might should be put to effective action on all types of enemies of the nation.
I appreciate the author of 'Enough is Enough' for bringing out the right reaction which the Indian Govt., should have...(unfortunately which the Govt cannot think off maybe....even after 100 years). I really admire the spirit of the Isrealis for thier reaction to the abduction of one of thier soldiers. Hats off to the spirit!!!....I humbly pray as to when the Indian politicians and Govt would react to horrendous bomb blasts within the country in the same manner...!
After nearly 60 years of independence...we are mute watchers of the atrocities of some select groups and inhuman creatures(I dont belive in calling them humans)....What a shame!!!
Whether you like it or not, the article is an eye opener. Let us not waste our time in arguing the merit of the article but let us understand the reality. This government or any government is incapable to maintain our respect. We, the people should start something. I do not know where to go from here but at least start a movement---perhaps try to change the present-day political class to a younger and dynamic political class. Due inexperience, the nation may suffer for some time but at last we will be the winner one day. Srini
Though I fully agree with Saisuresh Sivaswamy on the subject, but I am of the view that enough is not enough. India, who shared its frontiers with Iran on one side and China on the other side is a peaceful nation and believes in the cherished Vedvakya of "Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavantoo" ,"Vasudev Kutumbkam", "OM Shanti Shanti Shanti" even if it means that I might have to concede my Mother land to the invadors, even if it means disecting the part of my Mother land and giving it away to the protagnist of haterd and terror, even if it means feeding to the millions and millions of the harboureres od terrorist. It is not enough even if we concede Kashmir on one side and North Eastern regions on the other side to threats of terrorism. What a small sacrifice Mumbai and other innocent people have done? Just few hundreds killed almost ever alternate days. What a big deal? It is not enough, we still have 100 Crores and are producing more every day. It is not enough, for peace we still have a lot more to offer till we are thrown to Hind Mahasagar.
FOR HEAVENS SAKE, hunt them down!! whatever it takes, howevermuch it costs...if its true that the intelligence agencies had information and still no action was taken..book them first.
America has the where-withall to do things their way & we have always been the non-alligned ninnies instead of emulating our northern neighbour China. Our leaders know in their heart that we will not succeed in an all-out war like the past because as a nation we are horribly, horribly corrupt to the extent that we have an armed force which shows more might than it actually is.
The root of the problem is our very though process which makes us puny & only survivalists & not fighters. Till the time we do not get out of this "chalta hai" attitude, we will keep behaving like the Cow we revere - any one can milk us & get away & we shall forever be martyers. Our history & culture makes us third rate martyers who will die for a worth-less cause but will not stand up to build a nation based on character & might.
Israel built a forest out of desert & we are out to build a desert in a forest. Why ?? Because we were never driven out of our land & humiliated to the extent that we fight back. We got it all easy. Very easy
