Are you sure?
by Jomy John on Jul 13, 2006 11:43 AM  Permalink

Mr Sivaswamy,

You are right when you say that America has not had terrorist attacks on its soil. But surely you have not forgotten the American body count that piles up in Iraq. Surely you do accept that the world today is so delicately poised for an all out war of the civilizations, thanks to you-know-who.

While i do agree that we need to pursue this matter aggresively and with utmost urgency, I do not agree with your observation that we need to bomb people to get it done. If for once, our political establishment can look beyond their disgustingly callous selves and egos, we might be able to do something about it.

Enough is Enough

I strongly agree with the author. If we think that we can make friendship with neighboring country and solve this problem. We are fooling ourselves. Those idiots will always back stab us cowards as they can never wage a war against us front on. They do these cheap tricks and we fall prey to that. Come lets join and fight against them instead of friendship.

13/07/06: Ladies and gentlemen if you consider yourselves the sons and daughters of the Indian soil (then I better call you brothers and sisters) and if you have it in you to rise to the occasion and save the honour and integrity of India, our motherland then please do so. Use your intellect money power and all other necessary paraphernalia for the good of the country, and for its security and also to teach a befitting lesson to all those who underestimate Indias belief in peace; counter the dastardly acts of terrorism and help save innocent millions who are truly law abiding and hardworking citizens, who have their dears waiting at home for their return. India needs you and your services now more than ever; hope you rise to the occasion. The cruel blasts are ironically the clarion call for your and our active action to checkmate the terrorists and the terrorist acts.

personal propaganda

I believe columnist is some of kind of self-opinioned person who thinks and writes what his instincts say. Time and again I found rediff editor does not care to scrutinize articles, especially columns which are read by most people.

What USA has done is one thing what are they recieveing back is another? Author does not seem to have studied the situation. Terrorist want India to attack, but then we will only have more terrorist hitting back, instead better to find the real cause and solve it. And I believe the re-sources used in such cases are internal, so we have to first tackel our internal enemy rathre than raging war on other countries.

by Nayana on Jul 13, 2006 11:35 AM  Permalink

Very Well written article, echoes the thoughts of a billion people across the Nation.....why do we as honest citizens of a country - need to put up with the spineless foreign policies formulated by a Government which lacks both courage and conviction to protect it's own? Please wake up Mr. PM, before another bomb deafens our senses!

I dont agree with the author completely .The major reason is that Pakisthan is a nuclear power and we just cant go and attack a nuclear power which might in turn lead to the destruction of the entire world.America attacked Afganisthan and iraq which really didnt posses any militarty power as such . You can realise this from the fact that America havent gone for any military action against North Korea for so long , the only reason being that North korea has nuclear weapons .

Any way one thing is for sure , India should stop being so tolerant and start acting in some way to stop this constant threat to our people.
