sacking of Dr. Venugopal.
by siddarthmenon on Jul 07, 2006 10:36 AM  Permalink

Well said Mr. Shenoy. By the by who is bothered about Mr. sarvesh kumar's heart beat or his heart condition. The union health minister who sacked dr. Venu does not have a heart, then how can he judge others heart. The sacking is a pure political vendetta against the AIIMS director who is a pioneer in cardiothoracic surgery, who could have earned in millions had he opted out for a private sector. Sad end to a well known surgeon.

AIIMS
by Pradeep M. Sikdar on Jul 07, 2006 10:21 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I do not consider it a loss to common man because

a. For poor patient : A poor patient never got a correct treatment or proper care in this institute like in other GOVT hospitals.

b. For Doctor : Like IIT or IIM, this institute is a lunching pad for rich Doctors to go abroad. No doctor took it to be a lunching pad to serve poors or people of small or other town or city.

I consider the institute affair as of today is a affair like we see in todays TV serial of story of a Bussiness or political family. God is their to take care of poor.

Reply to/ refute the comments of Mr. Sikdar, and leave the spellings to "spellcheck".

(Incidentally I find you yourself have made unpardonable gmr/ puctuation errors. It does not matter, anyway.)

Dear Mr Sikdar,

Try to improve your English, at least while posting messages. Even a spell check would do.

There is a dignified way of protest
by Vinod Kumar on Jul 07, 2006 10:21 AM  Permalink

If the employees of AIIMS feel that they have been treated shabbily, they have every right to protest in a dignified way. They can go on hunger strike or go to court as Dr Venugopal has already done. But going on flash strike leading to deaths of patients is unpardonable. Dr Venugopal should have issued a statement asking the staff to do their duty and that he will fight his case himself. Sadly he does not appear to have had that stature.

This is a question of self-respect. One nonsense minister can not take the public for granted. The idiot minister is just trying to show his power and he must be brought to his knees, and I think strike is the only option to get it done.

AIIMS has been wounded
by nilesh on Jul 07, 2006 10:07 AM  Permalink

AIIMs has been wounded because of the striking docs. They have staged a blackmail from last few weeks. They should be arrested with immediate effect for taking law in their hands. They are merciless and are just finding a reason to strike.

Analyse the situation
by Sunny on Jul 07, 2006 01:25 AM  Permalink

The situation is clear. A MBBS graduate (spent Govt. money and facilities for over 5 and half years) and thought himself to be unfit to heal the patients and jumped into politics with false propaganda of helping the people. Now he is interrupting the peaceful mind of patient healers. Does India need such people as leaders? Think. If cannot think, get back to me.
