Bunch of happiness blooms before him
by K R Panicker on Dec 27, 2006 12:56 PM  Permalink

With a bunch of happiness blooms me bow to Justice K G Balakrishnan to congratulate him on his new assignments as the forthcoming 37th Chief Justice of India, being a senior most Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
However, one question is there before the presence of honble Senior Citizen of India, Statesmen of India, friends, brothers/sisters & dear children of India, may kindly say one thing is this a gift for Justice KGB, being himself is from a downtrodden community or caste ? If the answer is No, why is this Crown THE FIRST EVER DALIT TO OCCUPY THE COVETED POST? Is it necessary to establish himself is from a Harijan community? Sometimes, our Rastrapithas soul may be sobbing hearing all these.

New CJI

It is a good sign that the views of all the 117 people so far have one common theme: Hon'ble Justice Balakrishnan has been elevated because of his ability. May I, therefore, request the Rediff reporter to withdraw the present Headline and replace it by a more suitable one ?

Dalit CJI
by RKK on Dec 23, 2006 10:36 PM  Permalink

What is a Dalit? I honestly dont know? Is it the same as BC? Incidentally is BC Backward Class or Backward caste? India must be the only country in the world where everyone wants to be included in BC list (to get benefit of reservations). Why do we have to divide our country in FC and BC - why cant we forget all these divisions and let everyone be an INDIAN instead. How long will we let our politicians divide us - let us vote as a Indian without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed or color.
Incidentally I am told the Dalits have been treated badly by OBCs rather than by the so called high caste people - and we want to give the creamy layer of these OBCs reservation so they will not let the other OBCs come up? Also we have so many Drs, President , CJI from the BC who never needed reservations - so do we really need OBC reservation?
