Who is Volker himself
by Jan Reloaded on Nov 08, 2005 10:01 PM  Permalink

Who is Volker himself ? He got into US congress with active support of corporate bandits of USA. In USA, it is okay to accept donations from corporations and lobby for themwhile it is not okay in India). When a member of such a lot with hardly any integrity even in their "normal" dealings runs an inquiry and cast aspersions on
a scholastic and hitherto clean leader, it should have been primarilytaken WITH A SACK OF SALT. Instead, govt was in a hurry to sack him. Looks like US want remove all leaders which stand up and speak. A SHAME ON INDIA THAT IT IS BECOMING A CLIENT REGIME OF USA. On the other hand A MASS MURDERER like Warren anderson, chief of Union Carbide, Bhopal is living in luxury in USA under full protection from USA.

A SHAME !!!

corruption at high places
by suresh kumar mahendroo on Nov 08, 2005 09:49 PM  Permalink

The point at issue is not whether any indian law has been violated but if the politicians or the political party mentioned in the report has made money in these transactions then they can not be relied upon as they can mortgage our foreign policy for money. Can we allow such corrupt politicians to
control country,s future ?

Prof.Sahay`s article''What laws have been broken?
by Dr>Rajhans Dave on Nov 08, 2005 09:31 PM  Permalink

Dear all,It is not surprising that Prof.Sahay is trying to defend Natavarsingh and congress party- supremo, by creating doubt, regarding the credibility of Volcker report.I can understand, the post he is holding in those institutions, are famous for having congress`s blessing since their inception and so naturally intelectuals like him, are ready to voice their supporting opinion regarding congress and its tainted leadres.Should Indian people take it granted that information or report from UN or other international organisations, is always bogus and bias, because they are reporting truth, which congress- politicians and supporters(who are or have been benefitted because of their covert or open closeness!) do not like? If it was opposition party - politicians`s involvement, then even congress fabrication is to be believed the truth only, like example of St>Kitts,Tehelka,Jogi`s scandal- to name few.I am amazed to know that Prof.sahay finds, no rule broken, before starting of so called Inquiries!I am sure all congressmen are honest, pure and saints, and it is only others are not patriots and not having good moral character!!!Dr>Rajhans Dave

What laws have been broken?
by labrea on Nov 08, 2005 09:27 PM  Permalink

In India, politics is as dirty as it gets, and every opposition party worth thier salt salivate at the thought of the merest scandal they can use to give their opponents a drubbing, never mind if the only outcome is harm to the nation as a whole - such is thier selfish self-centered quest for vengeance and retaliation. Then again, those who think they are too high-and-mighty sometimes need to be taken down a few notches - just to keep things in perspective.

Volcker Report & Natwar Singh
by Kumar Govindan on Nov 08, 2005 08:49 PM  Permalink

I do agree that it would be awfully difficult, if not impossible to establish that Natwar Singh and the Congress party are guilty of wrongdoing. But then, has it been possible to prove, despite compelling 'red-hand' evidence, any crime committed by the high & mighty in India? When called upon, the witnesses either disappear or turn hostile-leave alone gathering evidence.

In my opinion, the only way to punish these people is to humiliate them by arresting them like common criminals and making them 'count the bars'(at least for a while). "Am I a Veerappan ?" snapped a 'Godly' Shankaracharya - great proof of crime! Where is the coolness and composure attributed to 'such tribes'?

Natwar Singh may not know how a barrel of oil looks like but knows the way to get to Bagdad via Jordan - driving some miles by road - he said!

These people have the connections & contacts (and 'make the roads' with light houses for guidance!!)which are 'effectively used' by the sons, wives, friends - perhaps the unknown Congress Party Worker.......No way of finding out anything! Blame it on the CIA, US, or the 'foreign hand'!!!

Graft in Top Brass - Imposible to prove
by BRIJESH on Nov 08, 2005 08:14 PM  Permalink

I do agree with you. The graft that is in the TOP BRASS in India, especially in the political field, it is very difficult and impossible to prove. But many of the small and Innocnet will be the preys for their Nasty Work.

Tehelca tried to prove something. Who got punishment... ? The top Brass are not even appearing in the FIR.

In the recorded mesages of Tehelca many top peoples names have come-out. They are real culprits. There are some Chairman's and Directors of big Companies in India. There are political leaders in India. But finally few small people got punishment. Top brass are running free.

So, what I want to say is that, Bofors case, OFFP, Westend Systems, Coffin specialists, the A to Z great graft crimes.. all ended with punishment of office boys/ Peons working with the great people and the Investigating Authorities put their Statistics as 70 to 90% achievement.

O God Save India.
