I usually avoid reading Bidwai's commentary since i feel he is anti-national & usually his articles make a case for something that is not in India's interest. Thus i make conscious efforts to keep away from his articles so as not to give him even the pleasure of 'one hit' on his site. But when i saw the title of his latest article "India's U-turn for a despot" i thought he had a valid comment to make about the Pakistani General, Pervez Musharraf. I guess we can apply the title "India's U-turn for a despot" to India's latest Pro-Pakistan policies, as well.
I was thus taken in by the title of this article.
Anyways i did not bother to read the article further when i realised that PB is back to his marxist barking & sucking up to Pak-China & everything that is not in India's interest.
Good try PB!! But there are millions who now see through most of your articles. You are symbol of loath for most people who still love India.

A Miracle
by Vinoo Ramakrishnan on May 05, 2005 07:29 PM  Permalink

Wow!! For the first time in his life, Bidwai has written an article without criticising the parivar. This is definitely a positive fallout for the Indian govt action in Nepal.

As for Nepal situation, what right does India has to impose democracy in Nepal?Do we say that to Pak?To China? To Saudi? Is it not hyporcritical for India to advise democracy to Nepal when we try to build friendship with a dictator like Musharraf?

highly biased article with leftist propaganda. The author and the people of his ilk are trying to misguide the people wearing the garb of democracy which has become a new age political fashion. It should be clearly understood that the maoist are the problem because they started the violence by being misled with some sick ideology and turning a peaceful nation into a cauldron of bloodshed.Naxalites are a bunch of modern day bandits and it is just a matter of power struggle to dethrone the monarchy and establish their own rule and law which is of the worst kind.

dear kalachandra,
your analysis is appalling. ypu seem to have just dismissed the well thought out article simply because of your ignorance.
do you even know what the demands of the maoist are and how they came to be about?

That's absolutely true. This is is some radical garbage about the "benefits" of Maoist philosophy. Whoever wrote this would be arrested in the US as a communist.
