I have never been a great fan of Shah Rukh Khan (except in Fauji and Circus) and I used to think that he has packed his acting talent away somewhere, doing only supercial roles in melodramatic movies, but with this movie, he really brought it back out of the closet, and I've really now become a Shah Rukh fan. He has come of age with this performance, which I think is his best so far! Chak de Shah Rukh! Please sign up for more movies like this!
Finally, I loved every one of the girls in the movie, they were so real, and represented the real Indian women from different parts of India, and they gave an amazing performance. The movie also brought to light the fact that on the eve of the 60th year of Indian Independence, it is up to the women of India, to come out and do their best in their respective fields, and do the nation proud. A truly inspiring movie. Go Girls!

Dude( going by your heightened sense of other people's ignorance in front of your own superior knowledge, i can only assume such!!).... but most people happened to see this movie in a certain context, and not in isolation.....it dealt with multiple issues at the same time: 1. Our National Sport not being recognized 2. Bias against women 3. Bias about Muslims 4. People from all states not being recognized 5. The eternally cultural, ego clashes within teammates 6. Lack of fitness within sports teams, and inability to play as a team(playing for self)
WHAT OTHER HOLLYWOOD MOVIE HAS THROWN LIGHT ON SO MANY QUESTIONS AT ONCE!!!!
I would say that the storyline had multiple plots going on, so even if part of the screenplay was a copy, the overall theme was intact, and indeed unique, and a first in Indian, and any other cinema!! 200 points on 100 for the movie, even if it is a copy 10 times over!!

Ek Hockey Doongi Mein Rakhke!!- Raj.
I went to watch this movie yesterday with a couple of my roommates, here in the US, and we were gripped on to the edge of our seats for the entire duration of the movie. We were floored by the great performances, intensity of the plot, excellent storyline, flawless execution of the script, and patriotism in the movie. We all came away from the theatre smiling and remembering the sports we used to play as girls back in school. I felt sure that if I was in school now, I would have gone and signed up with my school coach to try out for the school hockey team.
One of my roommates has always been a non-resident Indian, unlike us, having played Hockey while growing up in Zimbabwe, and although she doesn't understand a word of Hindi, she could really appreciate the movie, and it was an eye-opener to her and us alike, as to the dismal state of affairs for training, sponsorship and promotion of the National Game in the country. It also gave my Zimbabwein-American-Indian roommate a true glimpse of sportswomen from different parts of India, which she had never heard of before. It is undeniable that the movie will now generate more national enthusiasm about our national sport. All sportspeople in India, all young boys and girls, and in fact every true Indian needs to go watch this movie. I hope that the media now plays its part in attracting more sponsorships to promote this game, so that more championships are held and it is played and appreciated and viewed by more Indians in both In

I think SRK is more nationalist than K.D. He did india proud in many occasion. If he has been harrassed by people like K.D then K.D should have thrown out of India.

Oh my god you donot like Chak de because it has SRK and do donot like SRK movie because he is not secular. My personal experience is that you will never will happy in the life and will never enjoy any thing. Some thing will always haunt you that hey he is not hindu. My dear friend acting or entertainment or soprts is nothing to do with the Secular. I like SRK and his movie because he does a good job and very much involved in the film and off-course he is good looking.I also like amitabh acting.I also like Ashwaria. In personal Ashwaria is concern she has good face but she doen't have good heart.

Kindly elaborate as to what part of the movie you found so disappointing? Was it the fact that finally someone made a movie about our National game Hockey, or the fact that it brought out how crippled our Indian sports system really is, or were you disappointed by the fact that the women of the country can also bring pride to the nation

The authorities especially should purchase the tickets right?? So that the dysentery, gas and loose motions can remove the fungus, toxins and waste from their brains and their system, so that they can pull themselves together and actually do some good for the National Sport
