Drunken Monk.. he was forced to not go beyond 5 bcos rediff has asked for only five of the best compositions of Rahman.. which is next to impossible as there are too many good songs that one would want to list in their set of favorites.. you got it mate?!!
1.Chinna chinna aasai from Roja (Tamil). 2.Kal nahi tha woh kya hai from Vishwavidhata. 3.Nazron ke milne se from Vishwavidhata. 4.Theendai from En Swasa Katrae (Tamil). 5.Yennavale from Kadhalan (Tamil).

Plagiarism ?? you dont create an entirely new raga when you compose. When two songs are based on a specific raga/scale there will be similarities. Your ability in not being able to differentiate these songs exhibits the lack of knowldege in you to acknowledge and enjoy music from the indepth level

Stop that Raga. Listen to 'All that she wants' by Ace of Base you will come to know. He thinks Indians are idiots and they can't find out if he copies from foreign music.
Its potraying as if ARR has been composing for bollywood all along and Tamil film is his side business. He is very much an intergral part of tamil film industry, he is still based in chennai and does all his recording out from chennai. He has done many more tamil films than hindi and 80% of his songs in hindi are lifted from tamil directly

He is based in London now. Get your facts right. If he manages to get an oscar, he will migrate to US.

Looks like Mr. Rao is just another Rahman basher. You know somebody who should migrate to US-the great Ramalinga Raju who duped thousands of investors not only here but in the US as well. He conveniently turned himself in coz he knew he would face atleast 50-100 years in jail for the humongous fraud he is involved in. Get your facts right and give credit to the deserving ones.

He went to london to compose for slumdog. He infacr recorded a song with MIA in his studio in chennai. He is setting up a music school called KM conservatory in chennai and he plans to make it a hub by bringing in musicians and teachers from all over the world. Of course when a british director or a hollywood director approached him he cant ask them to come to his studio in chennai for recording. He is making a mark for himself in the international arena and once he makes a strong footprint he can dictate terms. So Rao do a full factual analysis before questioning other's remarks.

He is not an Andhrite to run to the US as soon as he can. He is well grounded in Chennai.
