How many movies made in India are original? About 1%? Well thats the reason why we have so much trash and very few good movies! This guy calling Indian cinema immature is a naive statement. Does he mean that he is the saving grace of Indian cinema? Give me a break!
Most filmakers look for original ideas and concepts. And to find original themes in a country like India is probably the easiest, with the vast socio-cultural situations, we can make some powerful and interesting movies.
Just look at Bollywood, everything is a glamourous situation with all characters in expensive and gaudy attires and dancing and singing in unison! Is this India? No. Then why do we keep making movies with fantasy as the central element?
I would say lack of ideas and talent in the industry. The real talent is left in the lurch and the trash is making trash movies. Look at ANU MALIK, he copies songs, including national anthems, even Israels national anthem!!
If he is one of the best music directors and Karan Johar one of the best producers, we have our cinema going nowhere.
And remaking movies like Sholay and Devdas!! Give me a break! Classics are to be treated with respect. Not with shoddy negligence.
Bollywood is whats hurting Indian Cinema. We need guys like Anurag make good movies and shut up. Let his movies do the talking.

Ur Right, Anurag is One of the Finest Directors, But Instead We Have Director's of Big Budget Masala Films Like Farah Khan(Bad Choreograpther Worst Director), Prabhu Deva(Good ChoreoGrapher Worst Director).
All these Directors Like Farah Khan and Prabhu Deva are Either Copying Hollywood Movies or Copying South Movies(WHich are Inspired By Hollywood Movies).
Black Friday was Superb, It Should Have Been Nominated for the Oscars, Instead they Chose a Faltu Movie Like Eklavya, That Shows the Compromise Politics in Bollywood.
Look at Some Compromise Politics in Bollywood:-
Saif Ali Khan Winning National Award for HumTum(HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, It was Joker Award, Not National Award)
SRK winning All FilmFare Awards Like Best Chaddi Award, Best Lollipop Award, Best SexxxxScene Award(It is Won By Karan Johar and SRK)
Big B Fraud Brand Ambassidor for All Faltu Awards Like IIFA.
Abhishek Bachchan Winning Best Newcomer, Best Supporting Actor and Best Comic Actor Awards.
Kareena Kapoor Winning Best NewComer(NewCummer), Best Supporting Actor and Best Actress Awards(HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA).
The Following People Who Deserves Awards But Did Not Get:-
1.Akshay Kumar(Has Not Got even a Single Award)
2.Akshaye Khanna(One of the Best Actors in Bollywood)
3.John Abraham(Working in Sensible Movies, and Improving his Acting Ability)
4.Sanjay Dutt(Was Given a Best Comic Actor for a Magnificent Role in MunnaBhai MBBS)
5.Paresh Rawal(Great Actor)
6.Rajpal Yadav(Superb Actor, Gr8 Comic Timing)
7.MohanLal(Best Actor in Indian Film Industry)
8.Anurag Kashyap(Black Friday Superb, One of the Best Directors).

Yes maxxx! I have also same thinking about film awards. Every one can easily understand that which award will go to whom while seeing the particular award ceremony like filmefare, iifa, national etc.
Anurag is an exception in bollywood. His scripts are original and uses no formula.
Hindi critics are nitwits. They see hollywood movies and are ready to point out when hindi movies are ripped from hollywood. But so many movies and songs are ripped from south indian movies, which critics never see and praise some of these ripped bollywood movies for creativity.

Sorry which Critic is Sayin OSO is Copy of Hollywood Movie, Saawariyaa is Copy of French Hollywood Movie, All Hindi Film Critics are Jerks, They take Money to Give Good Reviews, They are Paid Critics, They Give Good rating only if Producer Pays them Money.

Saawariyaa is a copy of a short story, white noise. OSO is also a copy of a hollywood movie starrin Robert Downey Jnr. But guess what, both these movies are in plus before they've even hit the screens. And the chu_tiya audience (us) we will go and watch this shi_t still. And make these fuc_kers even more money. Sad situation.

hahahaha, nice reply Pradeep. I'd like this idiot to answer this question. He may make sensible, but he's made a fool of himself by generalising.
I saw Black Friday and it was simply amazing. I loved the way it has been narrated and shot, realistically. I didn't know before reading this interview that Satya was scripted by Anurag which was an amazing work in itself. Thanks Anurag for being there and making movies which belong to completely different genre. Willbe looking forward for your movies. Please never compromise.
Indian cinema is NOT bollywood cinema only. Movies in other indian languages have won accords in international film festivals. Unfortunately neither the govt. tries to promote them nor the general public open up their minds and see what's going on in other parts of India. And a third graded movie maker has the audacity to say Indian cinema is immature!

Do you even watch cinema ? Do you even read the reviews that he is talking about here ? Yes barring a few exceptions most(more than 95%) of indian(including regional cinema) lack conviction, originality ,creativity and yes maturity. Also same can be said about Hollywood but precentages will be much less. around 80%. And you call anurag kashyap a third grade movie maker !!! See his works and you decide .(He wrote satya , Shool by the way !!!) If he is third grade we don't have any film personality that will even make 10th grade.
