Mr. Anurag - - you are making film for Indians and not Bollywood - - - if you make things for us you make them according to us - - - if you dont it according to our taste, we wouldnt like it - - and then you cannot blame "Indians" for it.
Similarly - - unfortunatley you movies also come in India and not Hollywood - - and reporters who report for your movies are also "Indians" - - so if they dont like it you cant make them like it...unless its worth liking it
So dont blame others for not appreciating or to be precise not understanding you movies..

I don't think whatever Anurag has said about indian cinema goers and media is wrong. Out media is more intrested in gossips...........is the affair between Karina and Saif is the, deepika and dhoni are headlines.....is it worth showing them for hours on news channels? Why don't you feel that we should improve our test of movies.......do you like to see again and again love traingles and same stories again and again. May be you are fan of karan johar and yash chopra kind of movie. I saw Black Friday and it was amazing movie. I hope No smoking will be same.
Every filmmaker perception of cinema is different.
I appreciate your work. But dont claim that Indian Cinema is immature. We had great filmmakers like Guru Dutt, Satyajit Ray and we still have great filmmakers.
hope Ppl will accept No Smoking..really looking forward to it...Noir Genre makes it more exciting
but Serious....Modesty is the key word for survival...If you bash Media....They will Screw up your career :)

torturous movie .... concept is taken from "The game", but director has allowed his imagination to run wild
After getting out from movie hall ... I was speechless .... it was first time ever I was thinking, movie cud have been good if it was a COPY still i wud say everyone should watch it ... I want everyone of you to be part of same torture I have been through .... and take my word this torture is absolutely different from other bollywood movies

Anurag, Great Interview.
I agres Filmy journos are dumb. Look at Patcy N, her questions are so typical. The less said about the critics the better.
Look at Taran Adarsh or even the rediff critics, their critique makes no sense.
I hope there should be film and Art appreciation subject in school.
Filmy Journalism is about Page 3 and gossip.
Very well said Anurag. Your Black Friday was a brilliant film. One of the best I have seen. The best was you extrcated good work from even a person who had a small role.
Why to blame Media or Indians. We are different. If you are a real film maker, who only wants to make cinema, why u need star ? Why you go for saleble face ? Why resort to cheap stunt ?
Just make a simple story without star or for kids. Make a children film like iranians do. If your cinema has power, you would be toasted.
And the worst thing, you said Indians are problematic, Then I am sorry tos ay, you are one among them.
I will review your smoking and I bet I will review it on the line of european cinema critic does...
Still bollywood couldn't make a 10% success. if year 100 releases, out of that 90 will be flops because of same told story and no body is ready to take challenges If u consider sharuk he is doing same kind of role in past 15 years thats why he never won a national award...if you consider Bangali or kerala movies the story it self will be different and some message will be there in most of the movies.i call bagli movie a standered malayalam any way ok there literecy is 100% so the definitely keep a std and wont go below that.Still bollywood has to learn a lot ..
