Slide Down..avoid the bump
by Subhasish Ghosh on Jun 04, 2007 09:50 PM  | Hide replies

While I am an ardent Amitabh fan, I have begun to feel the same cold arrogance of being at the top, vibes from him. His involvement in a political statement involving UP was absolutely unnecessary and put him in very bad light. Also what amazes me is he seems to have hardly any self motivated social causes to his credits , being mostly self ingrossed. While crooning over someone's talent can last for a while, maturity refelcts from wisdom and wisdom reflects from sharing. Except for a few random appearances in charitable causes, he has been a void in the scene...

His land deal as a farmer definetly doesnt add very much to the picture of a balance in person in command.

He remains a hero to me for everything he has done as a professional, but a wanting dissapointment on many he did not. I know many will lamblast and abuse my posting, but think..and ponder. He has more to harm himself that way, more than I can ever dream of belittling him. I am an unknown anyway....

I hope Amitabh lives up to his screen glory and takes a respectable route back to his retirement. My best wishes.

Very aptly put!!Amitabh is one of the finest actors that we know and he still continues to amaze us in varied roles.Apart from that, what has he done for the country, nothing, really nothing!!!A man in his position could have done something constructive ,surely.

Kohinor:
I would love to know about what Amitji did for country and social causes. The most I know are some ads, his brief presence at a few occasssions like a TV show (Antakshari for the blind )or recent attempt at OXFAM that earned him more criticism than accolades- deservedly. Infact OXFAM was probably his first social WORK- I mean he volunteered to work- that too outside India in London raising the question- doesnt charity start at home? Many stars have used their talent and reach to propel some purpose- on their OWN. They have dedciated a part of their public and personal life to a cause- silent or public- depending on their personal choice. Shabana Azmi is a startling example, Nana , Suneil,Vivek -the list is endless.

I really want to know, if he silently has been contributing to the society without anybody's knowledge and I will sincerely appreciate your sharing that knowledge. No pun here.

AMITABH HAS OVERDONE HIMSELF
by ash on Jun 04, 2007 09:47 PM  | Hide replies

YES AMITABH AND HIS FSAMILY NEEDS TO TAKE IT EASY . I AM NOT ASKING HIM TO NOT WORK AT ALL BUT DO LESSER AND QUALITY WORK.
THE WAY HE IS WORKING IN EVERY FILM IS LIKE HE WANTS TO JUST ACCUMULTAE AS MUCH WEALTH AS HE CAN.
AND THE THINGS THAT ARE BEING EXPOSED ABOUT HIM LIEK THE LAND SCANDAL AND THE ROLLS ROYCE HE GOT TO AVOID TAXES IS SICKENING .I MEAN I KNOW HE PAYS ALOT OF TAXES BUT HE SHOULD NOT BE STOOPING TO THAT LEVEL TO SCAR HIS IMAGE.
ABHISHEK IS WHAT HE IS DUE TO HIS FATHER'S CONTINOUS INVOLVEMENT WITH THE PRODUCERS AND ASKING HIM TO BE CAST.
THE FILMFARE AWARDS WERE LIKE A BACHAN DRAMA I MEAN THEY ARE EVERY WHERE AND TOO MUCH EXPOSED THEMSELVES TO THE MEDIA AND AFTER A WHILE ONE GETS FED UP OF THE SAME PEOPLE EVERYWHERE.
THIS APPLIES TO ANYONE WHO OVEERDOES THEMSELVES EVEN SRK HAD DONE THE SAME THING THAT PEOPLE BECAME FEDUP OF HIM BEING THE CENTRE OF ATTENTION IN EVERY SHOW AND GETTING ALL KINDS OF AWARDS SO NOW EVERYONE WHO OVERDOES THEMSELVES SHOULD TAKE A BACKSEAT FOR A WHILE.
AS FAR AS KARAN JOHAR IS CONCERNED HE ALSO NEEDS TO TAKE A BACKSEAT FOR A WHILE HE IS ALSO AN OVERRATED DIRECTOR. HIS FUTURE WORK SHOULD SPEAK FOR HIMSELF AND NOT HIS INVOLVEMENT WITH EITEHR SRK OR THE BACHAN FAMILY.

Writer has softcorner to Khans

Writer must have got money from KHANS, that's why he wrote this rubbish article. Because KHANs don't have work in industry today and are going flop. So they don't have any issue to draw public attention except pulling up the AB's legs

This as*s called Karan Johar is acting as if he is Quentin Tarantino. Let him make some meaningful movies and then we will talk. He is seeing big bucks with the two jokers ( Ash and Abhi ) acting in the same movie.

Even at 65 Bachchan can turn the crowd with a cheeni kum
by krishnendu mukherjee on Jun 04, 2007 09:34 PM  | Hide replies

Well the report is very much biased and if i am not wrong very much one sided. The report states Amitabhs downfall, where as, if box office reports are concerned he is reigning high with Cheeni kum and shootout of lokhandwala with so called new or flop directors. So like the SRK Amitabh dont really depends on the johars and chopras for a hit. Secondly Amitabh has praised his Abhishek for Guru. and whats wrong in that. Abhishek was excellent and all media praised him too. what if the same from his father. ANd if anybody is upset by that, then certainly they are not professional and freinds of the Bachchans. In Dhoom 2 the director of the movie wrote after its release that Abhishek is finished and this kind of comments are dengerous and irresponsible and so if Amitabh defends his son then whta is wrong in that. Rediff stated Hritikh as the highest tax payer which amitabh challenged claiming his contribution to be the most. He has guts to shout for the right no body contradicted that, so where is he wrong. I think This kind of baseless reports will not bother Amitabh or Bachchans. this is a kind of forcefully written baised display or wrong facts may be please certain section or handfull of Film industry people. The reporter should be given awards for his imagination. But the bottom line is that even at 65 years AMitabh can turn crowds and critcs with a cheeni kum or shoot out. anybody in hindi film industry can do it?

yes if you compare Yuva or Guru or even sarkaar, then abhishek is a better actor than Hritik. ANd whats wrong if Amitabh praises his son. Hritkh, s father only makes movies for his son to make him a star.

Yes Agreed.
And most important: Wo baki bhadvo ki tarah D Company me jake mujra nahi karta. Baki sab so called star to Ibrahim ke aage mujra karke aage aaye hai.

mr.B should have dealt with things more calmly, instead of jumping to support his son and ignoring others. All people need to be respected.Mr.bachchan will find it sooner than later..Mr.B is a fine actor, not a great icon to be projected..

Bid B started openly supporting his son only when a section of the el.media started declaring Guru as flop during the initial days of its release. It was a crucial film for Abhishek to survive. What is wrong with Amitabh comming in appretiating his son openly.
