News about shilpa's win covered by whole world. now ppl recoganize her more than ash. Its not just a news item its one of the headlines. And just every channel in AUS pointed out how gorgeous she is. I guess if world is covering this so closely, indians should really be proud of it, after all any news about indian & india other cows & slums is good. I THINK SHILPA HAS REALLY MADE ME PROUD AS INDIAN AS for Jade Goody the "FISH N CHIP" is planning to visit india, so hopefully MEDIA don;t forget her POPADUM comments & run after her!!
Congrats!!! Very proud tat a Bunt has made it to the top again tat too with so much dignity and u hv made us proud by raising ur voice against racism! Keep Flying!!! - BW, Aishwarya Hegde

i still feel that if it wasnt for the controversy shilpa woudnt have won...well we indians are getting so used to creating a fuss, hogging limelight and then winning out of sympathy..che shame shame.u r not a deserving winner.

I have seen lot of educated, well mannered people living in a cosmopolitan environment utter very wrong things about others while in the company of people they are very close with. I have seen north indians talk in a derogatory way about south indians and vice versa. I have seen hindus in the absence of any muslim in the group talk in a wrong way and vice versa. We all put a facade of a very tolerant personality when in public and many times make racist, religious, territorial remarks when in private. This is that side of human tendency which is very difficult to change. I spent six years in US but never had an instance when somebody cheated me because of the color of my skin. If a foreigner comes to India, right from the coolie to shop keepers every body tries to cheat them. When we talk about racial tolerance, there is a lot of introspection we need to do.

Don't use the word "We Indians" boss.... May be it is due to sympathy...but what else she can do? Is there any way?
Shilpa Congrats. You made every Indian proud. Your win is a tough message to all those who differentiate people with their SKIN color. I m proud of you.
