I couldn't agree more with you. SRK has to be original. At the same time, he should not try to bring a unique, distinct style of his own by his digs against the BIG B.

If you can beat him, change the rules of the game....

I believe this is what has happened to KBC. Everyone knew that SRK cannot match Big B. style, personality, humbleness in handling intellectuals. So what they did is bring it to lower levels and make it look more like a fun, youthful, spin-the-wheel type of competition. There is also that touch of SRK arrogance - what with statements like 'I am the KING' in relation to some question about the game of Carrom. Those hugs and hi-fives are also very frustrating, or may be embarassing. I think there is no stature showing out in this renewed version of KBC and TRPs are surely going to tumble or may be shift from intellectual viewership to more on the other side of literacy.

Right Dipen, I didnt like the comments like "I d this for my living" while doing shoulder massage.. who is he trying to impress...everyone knows he is getting 80 lakhs for that episode. Big B will not mention cheapo lines like pettycoat in front of ladies.... he has to learn suaveness from AB.

Big B is Big B
by Hari Rana on Jan 23, 2007 11:17 AM

SRK no doubt is a good actor. But trying to emulate Big B in KBC or DON is a herculean task. Certainly I did not like KBC-II hosted by SRK it's a mismatch and the Original charm of KBC is lost. Moreover the song at the start is more like an item song in any commercial movie (Gram Masala/James bond movie) certainly not be watched by School going children - infact it has become very Cheap.

Disappointing is the word.
by Ishi Yadav on Jan 23, 2007 11:10 AM  | Hide replies

I personally felt that the new KBC is simply disappointing.SRK was visibly trying too hard and making a mockery of himself in the process, particularly giving shoulder masaage to a contestant looked so artificial.SRK would do better to be himself on the show and always remember Shehanshah(AB) is just not miles but light years ahead of him in his acting and his overall persona and so SRK should keep his individuality to appear good on the show.

Guys why this hulla gulla, didnt you notice the same when AB the so called Sahenshah was down and going through bad patch, and wasnt in the form, movies didnt fared well at the box office, there were no takers, at that time he was rescued back by Govinda and Director David Dhawan and accepted a role whcih he hasnt done in his life, same cheap humour but could not justify the role as he Govinda use to handle and perform, so be very pratical, no Fanfare here, so guys please do not compare. Watch if you like it if not switch on to other channel.
