When we call any person/persons then we indicate him/her like AAPP, just to call then we say Aapp yahan aayea(You just come here) but unfotunately SRK call 'TUM' that is not rightwhen we dos't know the him/her. In my opinion that SRK calls any one to indicate with AAPP and impression to be like respectfully to other. If I call my son then call by AAPP and very gently ans show with complete love and joy. Hope that SRK will improve in his presentation. Meantime in film can br acceptable by poeple but in real show poeple will not accept. I am also accept his presentation in film but in KBC not accepted. In my voice show some respectable word to other untill unless I dont know to him/her. Thanks Sanjay
The comparison seems completely unwarranted because there isn%u2019t one. Amitabhji stands heads and shoulders above him in both presenting skills and widespread popularity even today. Shahrukh simply doesn%u2019t have a universal impact even amongst the youth.
I am 32 and live in small town India (Ajmer) and supposedly belong to the younger generation. But to me and most of my friends here Shahrukh is mainly a metro and overseas actor and too mainly popular among young women. His popularity is about economics and not mass impact. I understand that on an average about 75% of a film%u2019s revenue comes from the metros and overseas (given the presence of multiplexes, generally higher ticket costs and better spending power). His films cater to these audiences. And since the media is also based in the metros this is what it sees and reports. Small town India doesn%u2019t really identify with most of his movies and this is where the large numbers are. Here he is no more popular than his other successful colleagues %u2013 Hritik, Aamir, Salman, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, etc. Even in the metros, Aamir is considered a better actor. No doubt Shahrukh is an extremely stylish star (a la Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna) but is only average as an actor and low on substance. He is a star and not a star actor. It is hilarious to us when he claims that he is being compared to Dilip Kumar and Amitabh (no one does here, rest assured Shahrukh!!). So he is definitely not an all India superstar, only a metro and overseas superstar. This is where there is a huge difference between Amitabh and him. The legends popularity and impact has no boundaries. TV transcends these boundaries and enters all homes across India. Thus, Shahrukh in no way will create the same impact. And, remember one thing most Shahrukh admirers are first Amitabh fans and can see the stark difference in KBC. It is not a mutually exclusive club!!

Very well said Vikram. Could not be better than this. May be Sidhharth Basu should be reading this. I would add here that actors like Salman, Sunny, Hritik and Akshay are more popular across India. I accept it that says STAR TV from bottom to top but in case of SRK star will goes to Top to bottom.How the producer accept him.I like in film but inreal show it is impossible to impact on poeple in mind that "Aapp khel rahe rahen hai KAUN BANEGA KAROREPATI Aur aapka agla sawal" in just Sir Abhitabh's modulated voice. In all show of KBC always impact over voice. In my Sir Abhitabh's voice is unique in world.
