NOW THIS IS WOT INDIAGLITZ WHICH PLACED POKKIRI AFTER SIVAJI IN COLLECTIONS IN 2007 HAD TO WRITE...I HOPE AJIT FANS WILL CRITICIZE INDIAGLITZ NOW THAT THEY R BIASED, THOUGH THEY WROTE INDIAGLITZ IS UNBIASED WHEN THEY GAVE AN OK REVIEW TO THEIR STAR'S BILLA..NOW C HOW THEY WILL CRITICIZE INDIAGLITZ N VIJAY! LET THE FUN START GUYS!
Pokkiri
Loaded with allure, the highlights of 'Pokkiri' embrace a racy script, solid performance by Vijay with ease propped up by the sparkling performance of Asin. While Vijay's breakout performance sends our pulses racing, the love scenes were done with flair.
Opened to 100% collections all across the state, and emerged as the clear winner of the Pongal race winning rave reviews. 'Pokkiri' created a record in Kollywood by completing 50 days in 147 stations (direct run) in Tamil Nadu and was declared a blockbuster.
To sum up, the movie is an action-packed entertainer with loads of amusements, bliss, and fun. Dance master turned Prabhu Deva has proved his mettle as a commercial director with this film.

YA MAN, THIS IS EXACTLY Y I PUT THIS HERE, N C HOW THE TYPICAL AJIT FAN IN U REACTED!...WHEN INDIAGLITZ WROTE FAIR REVIEW FOR BILLA, THESE FANS HAILED IT AS A GOOD WEBSITE..NOW, WHEN THEY PLACED POKKIRI NEXT TO ONLY SIVAJI, THEY STARTED ABUSING IT RAN IN EMPTY THEATER N ALL...UNGALA THIRUTHAVE MUDIYAADHU DA! B A FAN, BUT DONT B SO DESPERATE THAT U PULL DOWN OTHERS WHO R DOING WELL BY CREATING FALSE STORIES! WE NEVER PULLED OTHERS DOWN, COZ WE DONT NEED TO AS UR STAR IS ALREADY DOWN HIMSELF ALL THESE YEARS SELECTING EXCELLENT SCRIPTS!

"Elae" arjun madava If ajit is flop star then why the producers are in Que to produce film with him. I already wrote that pokkiri 150 days collection is equal to Billa 10 days collection. Running 150 days with emty thatre is not a Blockbuster. The movie which is recovering the money minimum two times more than invested is called Blockbuster. In that case Pokkiri took 150days and Billa took 10days.

Ajit has the second biggest opening after Rajnikanth in Tamilnadu and thats why Billa is listed at No.5
According to the DCR from theatres and the reviews it got, Billa is placed at 5. It can move up at replace Mozhi at 4 but definitely it wont drop down with the list of films down below.
Paruthiveeran, Mozhi and Chennai28 are the best films of 2007. The calibre of films that ran successfully apart from these 3 movies shows that Tamil film industry is fast becoming one like Telugu where story or screenplay or performance never matters and its only hero's punch lines that matters the most.
Bollywood is the worst case except for 2 or 3 films.

JUST GIVING AN OPENING DOES NOT MATTER DUDE! HOW MANY OF UR FILMS GO ON TO BECOME SUPERHITS MATTER!

JUST GIVING SUPERHITS DOES NOT MATTER! HOW MANY ARE REALLY WORTH TO BECOME SUPERHITS MATTER! Simply rendering dialogues like "nee padicha schoolukku naan head master" and 4 or 5 fast beat songs makes a film superhit doesn't mean that they are really worth to become...

"Elae" Arjun madava U stop the advise. advise your "mokka star" how to select story. for him need 1000 experts how to select story. You advise Ajit? you too dont waste others time.

Ask your favorite star to attempt a fresh story from a new director (Most important it should be a hit unlike ATM). Then we will continue our discussion.
RE:RE:RE:check this out
by arjun madhavan on Dec 27, 2007 06:03 PM Permalink
AND TO ADD TO IT, PLEASE KINDLY ASK UR SO-CALLED STAR TO LEARN TO "SELECT STORY" PROPERLY FIRST SO THAT HE DOESNT GIVE FILMS WHICH DISAPPEARS FROM THEATERS IN THE FIRST WEEK ITSELF BFORE U FANS CAN EVEN WATCH IT! DONT ADVISE STARS WHO R DOING WELL FOR THEMSELVES IN THE INDUSTRY SO THAT THEY ALSO BECOME FLOP HEROES LIKE UR STAR..PLEASE DONT WASTE TIME!

YA MAN, THATS Y UR FLOP STAR HIMSELF TOLD, "I KNOW I NEED TO BE CAREFUL IN SELECTING SCRIPTS" N U ULTIMATE FLOP FANS ADVISING OTHERS ALSO TO SELECT FLOP SCRIPTS EH? VENAA, VALIKKUDHU!!
RE:RE:RE:check this out
by arjun madhavan on Dec 27, 2007 05:36 PM Permalink
HE IS NOT AS DESPERATE AS UR STAR TO GET A HIT YAAR THAT HE HAS TO ACT WITH FRESH DIRECTOR N ALL...HES DOING WELL FOR HIMSELF UNLIKE THE ULTIMATE FLOP STAR WHO HAS TO TRY VARIOUS ROLES, DIRECTORS, BUT STILL DOESNT SUCCEED! SO CHILL!
well, this film reminds one of Big B, a malayalam film of mammooty which was all technique but no soul...lots of slow-mo walking in black dress with loud background music n black goggles, car chases, n remix songs...well vishnu, ur pattiyal n arindhum had more soul in it...v xpect more films like those from u..leave these kind of exaggerated commercial masala to directors like sankar etc who does a better job of such films than u have!!
if u have the audacity to heap praises on Pokkiri and also give a scathing review on Billa.. either u are out ot ur mind or u are a diehard fan of Vijay..Hari, better leave this biased job or Rediff gets a minus point on account of you !

i cant understand y everyone's after vijay when this is a discussion about an ajit film...the reviewer has given his point of view about the film, n one shud learn to accept it...itsnt fair to think that jus coz 5 people praise a film, the 6th one also has to! and just becoz he has written this review badly doesnt mean that the film is going to b a flop or hit! pokkiri was a hit in its own right n lets c how this film is going to b after a period of time..if its a success, celebrate it, els move ahead n hope for the best next time, instead of wishing everyone shud praise a film just coz u liked it!!
cmon.. if u have the audacity to heap praise on Pokkiri and also give a scathing review on Billa, either u are out ot ur mind or u r a diehard fan of Vijay .. better leave this biased job or rediff gets a minus point on account of you !
rediff has failed to read the current crop of tamil actors who aspire to emulate the superstar's magic vs the performance of Ajith who has done a commendable work in Billa the remake.. it is slick, racy , ahead of its contemporary films..it deserves more than the above distasteful review
So, the question is how the actors visualised and played their character.
By that yardstick, Ajith who is far superior to Rajnikant in his acting prowess has done a miracle. Repeating a movie that came in 1979 in a different language in 1980 is no miracle.
But making the same story run in 2007 is, and Ajith has done it. Hats off to him!!!

by Sriram Govindarajan on Dec 30, 2007 08:19 PM Permalink
Ajith's acting better than Rajini's..hahahahaaaa..Man u have a gr8 sense of humour, there wasnt any technological advancements in 1979,but the film ran for rajini for his impeccable style, timing and flair...Ajith is nowhere near him..but yes thenga srinivasan did better than ajith.....
Mr.TSV Hari Being a critic you r biased to the core.Wen a movie like pokiri is judged very good wat is missing in billa? In pokiri no change in costume, most of the music, the hero's father, hero`s name:sathiymoorthy, everthing copied even a small hand kerchief.Being biased like this just resign your job and join the fan's club of ur favourite(useless) hero and become his ......................................................."kolgai parappu seiyalalar"..........

THATS Y HE IS THE UNDISPUTED KING YAAR! THOUGH NO CHANGE IN COSTUME, HE MADE IT A BLOCKBUSTER! BUT THIS GUY SPOILS ALL CLASSICS, HE SPOILT MOHANLAL'S KIREEDOM, N NOW HE SPOILT AMITJI'S AND RAJINI'S DON...HE CANT EVEN GIVE A HIT WITH REMAKE! NOW WHAT IS HE GOING TO DO?!!
RE:King Billa

Who told Billa is a flop.. Irrespective of the story, direction, etc... it is the only movie which is running successfully now all over TamilNadu... Hope you know it.

SO U AGREE THAT THERS NO STORY OR DIRECTION IN IT...U FORGOT TO ADD ONE MORE..NO ACTING! JUST WEARING BLACK GLASSES N SUITS N SLOW-MO WALKING DOESNT CLASSIFY AS ACTING! N FYI, KALLOORI IS A FAR MORE WORTHY TAMIL FILM TO WATCH N IS SUCCESSFUL NOT ONLY IN TAMILNADU BUT OUTSIDE OF IT TOO! WAKE UP
