Remaking a film that had hit the screens thrice before is always a very tough trick and I believe this should be the first time ever.
Few Nice Things: - The Camera is fantastic, surely a revolution in tamil cinema - The locations are superb - Costumes are perfect (kudos: Mrs.Vishnuvardhan) a must mention about glasses... - Nayanthra truly sizzles
The Minuses starts here: - Ajith could have done better, but he neither fits the shoes of Billa nor Rajini - Could have had some care about his pot belly - Prabhu is simply wasted - Nayanthra sizzles but to skimpy for tamil Cinema. I believe she watched Tomb Raider too many times. - Dissolving the character 'Thengai Srinivasan' should have brought a much chilling twist but dissapoints. - Mere shooting down of villain Rahman goes down very low - Namitha could have been replaced by someone else much slimmer - After Ajith do you want to know next highest featuring character of the film. It's Petrona's. Featured in almost all the shots. Name it murder, police activity or even the chat with Velu...the Petrona's is always in the back drop.
Overall...an extravaganza meal but just doesnt fit the need. Care had been given to the individual stunt & scenes by Director Vishnuvardhan, But as a total movie the grasp isn't simply there.
Ajith is still fit to take up 'Thee' as his next venture but only if he improves his acting and ofcourse his pot belly.

ajith could have done better in dance, but dont compare it with rajini okva... both have different styles... rajni istyle king and this movie is more like visual treat. Nayan looked great in this movie, so wht do u expect from rahman characters??? nayan too skimpy and namitha can be replaced by slimmer actresss...manoj nee enna loosea???

A much expected film like this, if it had a truly unexpected finish...will surely be appreciated. The film is not taken for die-hard fans alone, it is taken for everyone. It should be liked by everyone. Only then its a true hit. Nothing wrong in commenting abt the 2 gals. read it properly. Nayan truely sizzles but might make our ladies bit uneasy. No denial Namitha was hefty.

perfect review , u have splieed out what i had in my mind. Ajit only walks through out the movie,even in songs ,its the only drawback. Vishnu shuld have sticked with Arya for this movie & the script do the talking than the actors like his previous films. What can Vishnu do ,everybody associate with our hero will have the same fate, God save A.m.Ratnam & Sankar for ROBO.
All our tamil heros can hit six and fours in the ball(like getting hits 100 days or 75 day) but Ajith has hit 36 runs in a single ball( more than criketer yuvaraj hit) BILLA.. Should be a BLOCK BUSTER HIT OF 2007... GO see and get Exicted ...........

dei go and watch the movie... not even there is a single scene ajith has tried to copy rajini okva.... see telugu pokiri and tamil pokiri... pvaingala dialogues, fights and even the camera angle are same.... ena koduma sir ithu
as expected REDIFF review department make sure it gets its discussion board more replies (just like television viewer rating) by giving filthy review ditching good movies and praising flops ,i can give many examples .BUT just ignore this teams dumpness

The critique team already got big bulb on review of "I am legend" now it is continuing,,,, this film critique eyes is on cleavages than on movie. REdiff sucks
