RE:Brahmans, Banias coming back
by Saurabh Singh on May 17, 2008 03:35 PM
U really seem to have very narrow view of the IITians, particularly so on the qualifying exams. If U had ever attempted to prepare for IIT-JEE, u would have known that merely being from a particular family background does not help u qualify for admission. Refrain from such stupid remarks.

You "obc power"fool why you are trying to divide Hindus in the name of caste I am from an OBC community Thevar in Tamil Nadu, but believe casteisum in Hindu society will vanish in few years. And more over now there is no such privileged community in India who exploit OBC, SC, ST... In fact I believe being an OBC I am more privileged and getting undue advantages, because my father was a regional manager in Southern Railways and I am still eligible for reservation this must be changed.

Now reservation must be based financial condition of a candidate not based on caste. At least rich from OBC and other SC, ST caste must be removed from getting benefits.

Jai Hind.

for six hours daily if I join any IIT." Now, shall I crush him by sending to KOTA or FIITJEE just for a good salary and status. Now a days natural talents are not joining IITS but mostly polished and coached talents are joining IITS.Will they bring glory to the nation. SIRS,nurture of lives needs something else but certainly not money.I know that 99% will differ with this but it is only the left 01% who are running the nation efficiently through self sacrifies and a good education teaches this and this only. May be taught at IITs or somewhere else.

I agree with you. IITs are not introducing the real talents as it used be before introduction of these coaching institutes such has KOTA or FIITJEE.

comment on iit graduates coming back to india
by PRATEEKJAYASWAL on May 17, 2008 01:35 PM

I joined M.Tech at IIT Kanpur just for two reasons(1)SAIL has started taking MTTs through Campous Selection,(2)I did not want to become a burden upon my father. After joining IIT Kanpur my guide told me that if my grade falls below 6,my stipend of Rs1000/- will be stopped.I worked hard for my guide just to get Rs1000/ because out of that, Rs400/- I have to sent to my younger brother who was studying Medical.18 months passed same guide was telling to me that please work with me,I will post u somewhere in Germany where u will get very handsome salary.I told,"sir, now I have to see the future of my two unmarried sisters. My father retired leaving nothing for them.Money is not the solution for all problems of life." Now,with the blessing of god and my guidence,my sister became a medico from KMC manipal and her husband is a Super specialist doctor from IMS-BHU. "WAS IT POSSIBLE HAD I GONE TO GERMANY." sirs, Whoever r coming back from USA/GER, they r coming back because:(1)dollar is falling,(2)Ethenic fights r increasing,(3)Being Indians, they r afraid that their westernised children might get affacted with dreadful illness. Now country is progressing due to only those who stayed here either from iits or from other engineering colleges. Let us always remember Late Satyendra Dubey who was from IIT Kanpur.I am feeling ashamed of forgetting another name who also sacrified his life for the causes of truth and he was also from IIT Kanpur. Now my 2 studying son asks" Papa can I play daily

NRI remittances will only fuel inflation in India. That is because this income did not arise as a result of production within this country. Thus more money in circulation without an equivalent increase in production.

Foregin remittances will also result in appreciation of Indian currency and this in turn will result in a reduction of exports from India.

This is my understanding of economics.

Common man in India is going to find it difficult to make ends meet.

Withdraw all subsidies
by srinivas Reddy on May 17, 2008 01:05 PM

Govt should withdrawn all subsidies. If Govt wants to give subsidies it should be based on conditions. For Eg: Govt is giving huge subsidies in education(IIT's), they should be condition that they have to serve the country for min of x no of years.

Srinivas.
