OPPORTUNITISTS
by LAK on May 18, 2008 09:27 AM  | Hide replies

MY VIEW POINT / THOUGHT PROCESS:
These people went to US when things are good there, not able to face the difficulties here; now at the first sign of difficulty there they want to come back to INDIA and enjoy the fruits here. HOW many have given their green cards and US citizenship and come back for good. No one would do that. They would like to have the best of both...Would suggest not to paint one sided pictures which would give wrong impressions.. Yes coming to one's own country is good, if they decide to settle here come what may be burining all their US degress. Can they do ? I donot think so...

LAKS: Fortunately, the Indian Constitution is a lot smarter than you are, and not nearly as petty and boorish. And IIT grads are not such dumbasses as to "burn the degress" that they worked hard for. You won't understand, in India you get "degress" by being in the right "quota" or your uncle bribes the Principal.
Everyone should do what they do best - IIT grads work, you bellyache and rant with your pettiness.

IIT Grads returning to India
by Global Desi on May 18, 2008 06:58 AM  | Hide replies

Is this article serious?!?! IIT grads are returning to India because the food, music and culture is not the same?!?! And those who have settled in the US wanting to return...not likely...give me a break!

All have used the US as an opportunity to further their career and try things they would not have previously attempted. The only reason they have returned to India is due to the strong Indian economy. Do you think they would have given up their lifestyle in the US for the inconveniences India has to offer.

This article could have been made stronger by providing more compelling examples about the reverse brain drain. The article only refers to IIT as its sole evidence for reverse brain drain. It needed to look at reverse brain drain on a broader scale to really appreciate why Indians are returning to India. It is really an over simplification of what is really happening in India.

Reverse Brain Drain & Socio Cultural Responsibility of NRI's..
by anuj tiwari on May 18, 2008 06:51 AM

The above message is very well said that now the trend towards Reverse Brain Drain has started.

Every one of us share a responsibility towards-
1. Self- to Grow & achieve the best level of performance.
2. Family- to improve the standard of Living, Health & share Love.
3. Society- to make it a healthy system and help others to come upto their level.
4. Nation- To make it a safe & healthy place for all of the rest & bring more Prosperity.
5. Mother Earth- to keep it healthy and better place to live... Not just searching for better place out of the world... Moon, Mars, etc..

I think Most of us including NRI's are meeting responsibility towards self, a few towards Family, but the other responsibility towards Society, Nation, Earth.. are given less consideration.. Can we think Why? Has the nation not helped us in coming up to the present level of living & happiness??

Why daily there is so much of Killing, Violence, Abhorance, destruction, Cheating ? dont we all share a responsibility to bring & maintain peace & harmony.. We are educated people, I believe we all share the same feeling deep within..

Just give a food of thought.. again & again..

I would advice Hindus abroad to stay put
by on May 18, 2008 05:28 AM  | Hide replies

as a Hindu i would give advice to my Hindu brethren to stay put where they are and don't even consider going back to India...

ask why?

The scale of terrorism of the kind of Islamic and Maoist has reached extreme proportions and is increasing at the rate of 200% per year..the future is dark for Hindus especially...but little do they realize it! about 15 years back a bomb blast in a city in India was unheard of..but i guaranty you that in 5 years it will no be safe to take out your wife and kids to shopping since you never know!

The reason for this?..250 million Muslims in India do not identify in any way to the 5000 year old Hindu culture and Traditions.

2nd reason: Hinduism died the day Chandragupta Maurya died in 600 BC. From that day Hindus have become the most selfish, self-serving, money minded, coward, back-stabbing and characterless race of the whole world.

Integrity and loyalty is a term unheard of among Hindus.

The characterless race gives rise to Invasions and ruling by a foreign party --In this case getting ruled by Sonia Gandhi.

Will this ever change?...I don't think so.

Hinduism needs a revolutionary reform to
1.Unify its people.
2. Give a sense of pride among its people
3. Make them unselfish and put some character among Hindus.

For that happen, we need a religious or a political leader among Hindus who make this happen.

I DO NOT SEE ANYONE AMONG THE 800 MILLION COWARD S WHO CAN DO THAT

Thank you

well said. India is in the process of getting membership in OIC (organisation of islamic countries). India applied for it and now is an observer there which is a step closer to being a full member.

What about the graduates from other colleges
by vivek balasubramanian on May 18, 2008 01:43 AM

IIT's are great institutions which have shown the world what our potential is.But there are a lot of others as well who do well and have contributed to the success of companies in India and abroad. It is only fair that a mention of many others who have done well for themselves and their firms should be mentioned. Please don't get me wrong.

India is heaven to live
by amarnath yerramala on May 18, 2008 12:03 AM  | Hide replies

As mentioned in above article first and foremost point to be considered is, all Indians living abroad missing their parents, true friends, food and many more. I think except currency difference we can%u2019t find any thing in abroad. Despite having dirty politics and many problems India is performing far better than many other countries in the world. As some one mentioned, western people still think they are leaders of the world and Indians don%u2019t know any thing. Some people with half knowledge about India, Indian technology & infracture, Indian people and Indian development, might disagree above survey. I believe India is heaven to live in, not only for Indians but every one in the world.
