"reverse brain drain" is bull shit. They are finally doing what the country expects them to.
They enjoy the cheap subsidised education in India and run to US/UK to fill their pockets. India's economy is booming and at the same time the cost of living is low, so they are back, to expect better jobs than US. They opportunists and will run wherever they find money.
It is high time we stop taking NRIs sky high and start appreciating the bright minds working in India, despite a pathetic salary.
All these are IBCAs - Indian Born Confused Americans!

it mite b true that iit/iim grads go to US for better salaries...but there is nothing wrong in it as long as they pay back to the country in any form..how many people in india try to help the society???most of the orphanages/old age homes are run by donations given by NRIs...we need both man power and monetary power to help the society..if people who stay back in india help in the former, the NRIs help in the latter..everyone in this world is ambitious to make their life better..they have earned it and nobody has rite to question their decision until we provide a better alternative employment in india.

What is even more annoying is they run to US/UK behind money, leaving their parents all alone here. All....just for money.

they mite run for money early in the career.. after 1 or 2 years of earning u c so much luxury and money that u no longer crave for it. ive seen so many NRIs willing to dinate for a good cause. by that i dont mean that indians do not contribute. but that NRI contribution in dollars will be lot more than an average indian donation made. so that way dollar money helps..

That way, how many NRIs actually help? There are many Indians donating as well, but only, not many people notice that. As long as you go abroad with an intention, I don't mind. Infact I would appreciate it. But most of the NRIs go there to earn, totally forgetting India. What irks me is that, they are all behind a better opportunity.
British rulers turned out Arts grqaduates from colleges to subserve the Administrative Steel Skeleton formed by ekite ICS. after independence both the goverament and private enterpreneurs in later years are turnbing out engineers, managers & doctors to subserve the multinationals ansd like. Most of the ITTIANs and MBAs are engaged in exploiting commercial benefits of inventions and decoveries made invasruably by non indians. We can never be proud of our academic achievements till indians are counted among inventors and discoverers. It is a simili in our sports area. we mint millions from cricket of all sorts but barely manage to get any medals in olympics. I feel we need to drastically change our priorities A.Krishnamachari
its just a matter of time. if US opens up again, everybody will again start moving there. plus i think there is an anti- incumbency factor in this. to veer away from the circumstances that you are in presently for long time. given a chance, lot of indians staying in india for long would think of going and staying abroad. This is more to do with human tendency to look for new things
These folks are all cowards.. Not brave enough to face the situation and stand by their country in bad times.. Now that things are going well, they're back for the luxuries. Acchhe waqt mein koi bhi saath deta hai.. nothing great about it. Certainly not worth publishing as a rediff headline
This article seems to be a materialstic and oppurtinistic oriented, not a good way to support your country. IIT grads are not going out in big numbers bse now oppurtinites are there in India itsef. The moment economy slows down here, they will again start rushing to states. These guys are not intersted in the growth of India, they simply want to mint money.

unless you are an IIM/IIT grad. it is not worth staying back in India. Me for instance, work for one of the Top indian IT co's, making peanuts in India, if were to jump in the US would make much more money. My savings here, even with the current IT giant is equivalent to Rs. 60000. Tell me, how many people in Indian IT SAVE that much, or even earn that much...
It is all stupidly hyped that India will soon be a superpower. Look at these politician idiots who use the system so badly just to make their generations live a comfortable lives....
India is not yet a country that is a heaven for professionals.....bakwaas stories all...

Fully agree with you. But things are improving since the last decade. Our fathers generation had no job options apart from working at govt or proprietory companies.. Look at the payscales at that times. Now at least anybody can easily earn 25k . However these bas#$ard real estate guys have benifited from the IT boom. These crooks have jacked up prices in all areas.

You're a moron if you can't understand the chain of events. By the way, most of these people whom I see talking this way about IIT/IIM folks don't know anything about them. They're simply jealous that they could never even dream of getting there and so take every opportunity to target them.
First deserve and then desire! They've done more for the country and the rest combined together have done. Know the facts first before you talk!
opportunities always exists everywhere it is question of how we perceive it since as the technology advances the whole world has integrated in a small village and internet has helped us to work for any organization from india itself after opening of economy it is possible to create opportunities from here itself
