It is NOT only the IIT'ians. This is applicable to ALL. Now our boundaries are FREE. When we earn more in US we go there, when you earn the same here ... we are returning. Probably after few more years, Russia may look better to work .. then we will ALL go there. We are in NEED and we are ALSO required by these countries, hence this situation. In my opinion it is ALL due to our educational system. As a worst part being educated, OUR investement back to India is RESTRICTED only in terms of money and NO OTHER responsibilites / contributions to India as EDUCATED person (This message is applicable including me)

It seems to be a blog where morons and retards had been commenting. If a person has done better in life than many others, its his/her credit and nobody has the authority to condemn his/her action of leaving his/her mother nation for better opportunities elsewhere. If this lot wants to come back and settle in the mother nation, then thats a previledge for the nation because they have brains and the firmness to achieve goals. Someone has commented about changinf system........changing what system? and how-come politicians and terrorist attacks even be the topic of discussion for this blog which started with the title "Why IIT grads abroad are returning to India"? It seems fanatism and anger is cropping up for nothing and is encroaching upon individual dignity and integrity specially for the blog which comments some junk like this "If u hindus blame islam for any such acts of terrorism we muslims will rise to destroy u , ur mothers and sisters will not be spared either, they will be our property."
the only reason of the reverse brain drain is the falling dollar. the day the dollar picks up, these guys will run to usa. they are like fireflies. instead of fire, they follow the dollar.
India is power starved country.Lack of power is stunting growth . IIT Grads need to focus in this area -solar / wind / hydro / nuke power. Those opposing n-deal are bird brained.

Kya Baat kar rahe ho yaar, This IIT'ans never bother about your silly problems, they are concerned with the Pay Packages, if they find good package even in Bangladesh or Timbaktu, they shall move out there,

I agreed and appreciate Mr. Harsh Wardhan pointing out our country lagging in Power sector. if power sector and IT sector growth matches, no one can stop our wealth. This i understood after giving my hardship of 20 years in various construction field internationally.

none of the IITian is returning expect ashutosh. Now go to sleep
This must only be true for management carriers, because if you have a purely technical carrier, you are best compensated only in western countries. (I am not speaking about Indian IT company employees who are being paid peanuts for short stints in these countries.)
I being proud to be Indian And call to proud citezen of india. history rollback once again .People From India ruled the whole world .We spread the massage of love and peace to whole world.we always welcome all the people who lost there way to go aboard to find money by lossing every thing what their parents had done for them in india .Money can give wealthy life but can,t give you true and healthy life. Now a day people moving to india live healthy life. long live india

LOL!! This Ashu guys face tells u he probably got kicked out of USA and is a good for nothing fellow.
I am amazed to see the trend among IIT grads and other engineers to pursue management just for fatter salaries and easier work. These guys become complacent after cracking an entrance exam and lose the fire in the belly to really compete in the corp. world either in India or USA or anywhere else. I myself had an IIT rank but chose to remain a techie as thats what I love doing. I can't fathom why even be an engineer if all you want to do is performance appraisals and sending emails. Part of the problem is in the Indian psychie of prmoting ppl to godly status even if they produce nothing noteworthy. Lot of ppl have IIT ranks but their contribution as engineers or to society is zero or negative. Compare that to MIT or Stanford and you realize what passion for excellence and innovation is about.
RE:Why so many engineers go for management degree
by Saurabh Garg on May 15, 2008 11:10 AM
Your point is valid. In India, there is an inherent thinking that to grow, you have to become a manager, otherwise you are stagnent. If a person wants to do techie stuff and wants to avoid stupid comments from people around, then he has to leave India and work abroad. That is the best solution.
