If IITians are really so special I would like one IITian from the field of computer science come to me and show me one program he has coded which an engineer from a normal engineering college cannot do. if not computer science then prove it in any other field that you are so special that only you can achieve something which guys from a normal engineering college cannot. All IITians are like the Karan johars and Shahrukhs khan, they are most popular in their field and not essentially most talented. They understand the basic rules of life at very early stages of life and know to play their cards very well right from the earliest ages of life, far from being the most talented they actually are most ambitious and just that

you are so right and I cannot agree with you more, but the so called entrance exams and only the manifestations of the politics of the time and place - open your eyes -, the entrance exams don't really mean anything to me, and to tell you what I am not offended by your comment. We have long since come to live a life where success and failures in life are relative to how many entrance exams we have cracked - need to come out of it - to open your eyes I will give you one example - how many entrance exams did Irfan Pathan crack ? -

It is very clear from your post that you are more talented than every IITian and did not get into IIT because you did not fill up the application form and intentionally went to some local college so that u can live with your parents :-). I am not saying IITians are not talented, I am only saying that they are not most talented, I am only saying that they do not deserve the kind of attention they get, and I am only saying that we must not be judgemental that IITians are by default the best in their field, now what are my sources: I work in a company and so far I have interviewed few people for my company and from my experience they are not so special and far from it they best guy I have interviewed so far has about only 50% marks in his graduation and he graduated from an unknown university. So open up your mind, base your judgements on facts and figures and not on faith - I am not jealous all I am saying is if IITians are so special show it in facts and figures and not just because you mummy and daddy said to you so -

LOL..IITans and IIMs are the last people Indians would be insecure abt. Everybody knows they hold honorary positions in companies and produce nothing. In face of competition, they will run to another greener pasture. lol Just wait and see what happens when heat turns on in India.

Yes, it is very true. Getting H-1B is very difficult now days. This year, USCIS have used lottery for candidates having advance degree from US University.
Whether all IITans go to US or stay back to India it hardly matters from this year since now even people scoring ZERO in the IIT entrance test can get through.
Write about terrorist attack on Jaypur,without support of local people seven blasts cannot take place , but Police cannot arrest anyone since Political parties will pounce upon them,

Agree Pranab Rediff must do more investigative research oriented write up on burning issues & seek public views-responses. Who cares if 200 IITians (0.000005 % of population) return for 1 crore salaries in India or Bollywood stars wear backless clothes or who some bolloywood stars are dating .... We need to hear on issues on Jaipur attacks & follow up happening stories, primary education or training /education issues -reporting. If you give ` some page 3' type reporter to write then he will hang out outside Sharukh's house in Bandra or Big B's house in Juhu to report who went in with what clothes or what underwear Sharukh is wearing for the day. These Rediff reporters are ` a bunch of' cartoons...

Well spoken Shaheen, you are a true follower of Islam. Now everybody on this forum knows exactly what Islam teaches. Now it will be good if in addition to 'rising to destroy' Hindus and sundry unbelievers Islam also taught you to use your dumbass heads and try to get into some of the institutes mentioned in the article. But of course, slogging and getting into IIT is much more difficult to do than sneaking around on bicycles, putting bombs here and there and then running away like cowards.

IIT-ans are the most retarded social animals, no wonder they find it hard to adjust in USA. I find it laughable when guys in USA complain about missing home food and music and want to return. These guys hardly mix with other cultures, have filthy houses, spread masala smell to the whole town while cooking and generally make themselves a laughing stock in USA and create aa bad name for India community. When they realize Americans ridicule them, instead of worshipping them for being "IIT-ans", they cannot take it anymore and wiond their tail and come back to mother's lap in India. These jokers are good for nothing - technically, managerially, socially. Americans like cool people, not dumb-asss, no-sense-of-humor idiots. There are people 1000 times more brilliant than IIT-ans in USA, just look at how humble and cool they behave. In India, we shud stop automatically positioning these guys at the top and make them go through the grind and earn their position in corp. world.

All these IIT grads or any other grads who prefer to work in US are selfish by nature. They want a lifestyle stay away from parents don want any responsibility towards family and country. Now when India is growing rapidly they want to be part of it and show it world that we are indians. These IIT guys were supposed to be the brilliant class and instead of using their talent to helpgrowing their own country the prefered to help US grow.
