Top of What?
by Satya Banerji on Jul 17, 2008 06:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sustainability and evolution mark truly great corporations. TCS has laid off employees and held back on increments. It does low-value house-keeping for western companies that are pygmies compared to JRD. TCS also lords over the house of another Tata company that had temporarily fallen on bad times. TCS does not make it to my list, though it was once right up there.

laid off employees? When did that happen? Its a news to me. TCS has a history of laying off only for disciplinary reasons which includes 'extremely' poor performances

Man please dont balme TCS. Its the best company of India... their entry process is the easiest and also the work load is much messer compared to other firms. Unlike Infy they wont make u work like dogs. U would get a much better pay check even with a very ordinary CV.
But tehy are serious about ethics. So if you arent a 100% donkey and not a wrong doer TCS wont ever leave you... and you can enjoy the best life compared to your non-IT friends..
If you are still not in TCS, join and enjoy... believe me its the best in India.
Also thebest part is yet to come... you would get the longest onsites.... that means in a 1st world country you can stay as long as you want... :-)

gap in which sense? if you r talking about salary then there r some non IT company do you know paying more salary than IT. The booming of non IT sector has already been started, IT sector market will come down. Do you know OBAMA has already announced that IT outsourcing will be reduced by 30%. So I think that a very dull future is waiting for IT sector. Metal, power and Pharma sectors will come up very soon..........
not to make any biased statement........
try to visualize the thing.

MphasiS.. Not an Indian company
by Shesh Lak on Jul 17, 2008 05:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As mentioned, #10 company MphasiS is no more an Indian company. It has been taken over by EDS alsmost an year ago. I don't understand from when REDIFF picks all these news without verifying them.

wrong title
by piyush kawatra on Jul 17, 2008 05:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think the title mentioned is totally wrong. It should have been TOP 10 INDIAN SOFTWARE COMPANIES AND NOT TOP 10 SOFTWARE COMPANIES IN INDIA. There is a lot of difference between both statements and the author should understand this.

Yeah,May be these companies are top 10 companies in india, but these companies are not included in top 100 software companies in the world.this is real because these are not standard companies and are not mature companies with the world's best companies.

These companies are just services oriented companies, not even software companies. They don't have any tool or product on the own of brand in name in the market as of today.....shame on them....just as like the other service oriented one.....still they believe...SOFTWAREEEEE.....SHIT
