these politics, red tape, corruption n bureaucracy are the reasons LN Mittal kept out of India for such a long time while he conquered the world.. Even Tata could acquire giants like corus n rover so successfully... There is no shortage of bright ideas or people in India but even the strongest ambition will be deterred by such a regressive environment.
This is an inspirational statement? All it say about Ratan Tata is that he is an idiot to not foresee this before and putting employees in harms way. When he realized its impossible to meet deadlines, he conviniently states pulling out to protect employee. What Bull???? And to moronic Tata followers - do we really need a small car that bad?? We dont have roads to accomodate more auto-rickshaws, add to that all the nuisance of nanos. What has Tata planned for the congestion and environmental impact of Nano?? Its time we stop blindly hailing rich businessmen and hold them accountable. Otherwise we will be a nation of oppressed and subversed by our own successful people, who would not bear the cost of lung cancer or traffic congestion when we commute to work.

things are bad not cause of vehicles but cause of corrupt n inept govts n planning.. even potholes can't be repaired.. forget new roads, new infrastructure n projects... Dont blame the nano for it..

That is the biggest blunder in the first place. Today, the Tata Car project at Singur has been brought to a halt by the Trinumul Congress. In the years to come, even if the project happens to go through, mark my words, there will be countless agitations against it by the Communists.
Tata you should come out of the communist party ruling state. they dont know wat they are doing . can you spot any industry grown or farm land grown in any of these party ruling state. these people dont know wat is real communism.wat their leader ment. pull out the plant at this stage actually cost less. if u continue it will cost u more.

Superfund is a term used for the monies available to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to clean up abandoned or inactive hazardous waste sites. Such sites may involve soil and/or groundwater contamination, and are often contaminated with heavy metals, such as arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, mercury, and zinc; pesticides, including aldrin, dieldrin, chlordane, and DDT; and chlorinated solvents such as carbon tetrachloride, methylene chloride, and tetra and trichloroethylene. Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), cyanide, benzene, toluene, vinyl chloride, and radionuclides, including strontium, plutonium, and uranium are also found at hazardous waste sites.
US and other developed countries are struggling to get rid of the industrial contaminants left by industries
Are we learning from there mistakes or just going to repeat them???

Are you a spokeperson of Mamata,Maoists,Illegal Bangladeshis or 2 wheeler lobby? 97% of land in bengal is fertile, any industry will have to be built upon fertile land. Outdated farming techniques in Bengal will lead to further poverty. Got it, Moron.

Dear infidel: where did you get this 97% piece of sh*t..I am sorry 'information' ?
When i went through the speeches given my Shri Tata on various occassions through rediff today...im really amazed by his simplicity. India is really very lucky to have son's of this kind. It is rare to find a person who has accomplished so much in his days yet having his foot firmly in the ground. He has set an example to be followed that everthing is achievable still having ethics and values. Thank you Ratanji for inspiring us...and plz continue to inspire us through out our life.I pray the Almighty to shower his blessings on you on whatever you do... i know that whatever you do it wd be for the betterment of Indian society at large.

it is unfortunate that inspite of easily acquiring giants like corus n rover abroad, he is made to go through all this at home.. its a shame esp for someone who gave milions of people the dream to finally own their car..
The deal Ratan Tata made with the CPIM Govt is not fair and transparent. No business deals are fair and transparent for that matter. However Ratan Tata has been unfair to the Singur farmers. He has exploited the weaknesses of the Govt of West Bengal who are out on their knees to cajole the big businesses. No industry can survive by damaging agriculture or the environment. Industry is ok but NOT at the expense of other social parameters. For this reason the Nuclear Deal with the US is also equally bad. Unfortunately the CPIM believes in double speak. It has opposed the N-Deal but depends on the opaque singur Deal.

This is a govt of 230 against 30 .. this could become a business school case study of how not to govern a state. For the longest time this govt avoids negotiations - nandigram and singur are both a point of reference. Whatever Mamata Banerjee's intentions are at least she managed to highlight the utter failure of this govt. There can be secret deal between two companies but how can an elected govt that forcibly takes land out of peoples hands sign a secret deal ?
See what a competent psychiatrist can do? I always insist on taking the symptoms seriously: if you think you are a north Indian and hate south Indians or vice versa, if you are a fundamentalist Muslim and want to bomb every non-muslim colony, if you think you are an industrialist just because your surname is Tata, or if you think you can get a ration card issued without giving bribes...then you surely need treatment. My nursing home is open 24x8 Sadashiv Peth, Kothrud, Pune.
Ratan Tata should retire - he's getting too old. Everybody knew all along that going to Bengal was a blunder. Now his shareholders will pay for his mistake.

Even if this crisis blows over, the factory will be paralysed by the union. Bengal has no work culture......how could Ratan Tata take such a risk?

Right. Ratan Tata thought he could exploit the farmers at his sweet will. The CPIM can be at his feet. But the poor farmers are unwilling to be won over by pep talks. Believe it or not, Tatas are no saints.
