Salaam to my GURU.

I Harshad R Shah- an ex employee of GCL and Chemical Engineer UDCT(Bom.)
have great pleasure to write my feelings on the interview about Dr.KHG.Rediff.com
has done a great job. A living legend is brought to limelight.

%u201CIndia can do it.%u201D.- Yes, this is the statement of Dr.Gharda-when he will accomplish a new product. Every product which we made was first time in India/Second time in world.
So whenever an advertisement is to be given to Magazine as a gesture of goodwill/donation the advertisement will have above statement at the top!
As such he himself is an interwar person. Stays alone and away from outer world. He never boasts for himself. He has remained unnoticed for years. He did lot of struggle too.

He keeps on working entirely for all 24 hours say. He will dream & do it. He has focused attention on all his organizational problems. Be it technical or non technical. He demonstrated lot of patience during our failure in organization, implementation, & detail.
He remains a powerful intellectual person running on the norms & path of principles based on truth & honesty. His work speaks lour than his speech. GCL achieved miraculous
And sustained growth in spite of all odds in the field of Chemicals during odd timings.

I had privilege & proud of working under him form 1970 to 1980.After doing Chem.
Engg I could not go to USA/join MBA admission due to want of money. Prof.M.M.Sharma %u2013 requested Dr.KHG to give me work & he took my interview there only & gave me work. We all engineers were beginner in the field, look like babies &
Were given big task. He uses to say%u201D I have more confidence in you all than you have in your self! Thus we had free hand open atmosphere (Transparent) and easy accessibility to Dr.KHG.This motivated us in devoting new line of thinking and systematic methods towards problems. I admit I read more & more only at GCL and learned all Chemistry & Engineering after leaving UDCT! Our company was known as Training Center & Institute for Engineers. In fact we had formed such association also!

As it happens %u2013 honest & straightforward person can not survive for a long time in any organization, I also was victim of politics & was forced to resign on false charges. I was on foot path before I joined Gharda.Again I was on foot path. I decided to make a new beginning & started my own factory Marco Chemicals based on my knowledge & experience. I decided not to make any running product of GCL.I started an old product which was discontinued by GCL.We focused on process. Knock down older route & made so many changes. Thanks to good lesions I had learn at GCL.We good get 11% more yield, could double capacity in same equipment & reduced reaction times by 50% & product excellent with fast filtration! When I reported these results to Gharda, he was very happy. He said that as I was Entrepreneur I could achieve these results. Later I discontinued the above product did work in Minerals & Ceramic applications and achieved a lot. I go on working & contributing to field. Money is byproduct of my work.
I was offered Priyadarshini ,Rajiv Gandhi, and Udyog Ratna award but I never went to receive it. All the time Dr.KHG remained my GURU & inspiration.

I saw GURU picture recently- but I met GURU years ago & could go up in life.

Dr.Gharda%u2019s institute will go a long way. His new venture will also go a longway. His deeds will be seen for ever.I wish & pray god to give him long life & may his new dreams be fulfilled.
Harshad Shah.

Absolutely fantastic!!!. Most striking is a paradoxical combination of humility and arrogant confidence. A practical demonstration in life of trusteeship of wealth created is evident in this mans lifestyle. I salute this great man and bow to his greatness

How Keki Gharda stunned the MNC giants
by Vispi Jokhi on May 15, 2007 05:12 PM

This is truly fantastic reading. What strikes me most is the humility of this man with what seems a paradoxical arrogant confidence in his abilities. His concept of being a trustee of the wealth he has created is indeed outstanding.

Truly unbelievable , amazing but true!!
Great persons always live in simple manner.
Tata (JRD TATA) never owned a house, he lived in a rented house so small that it did not have any separate bed room!! he used to sleep in a sofa in the drawing room.
And this Keki garda do not have a house maid!
he sweeps the house and washes his own cloths
and yet he made companies like Bayer run for their money.
He himslef owns a multimillion company now and no children to own it !
