What a story! These r the unsung heroes that go unnoticed if it were not for journalism. What passion..what patriotism! I salute u sir. Rediff...plz post such inspiring interviews. People like him are the role-models for young India. I wish I could work for someone like him.We dont want any crap about film personalities or cricket stars. Keep up the gud work
It is truly wonderful to see a determined induvidual with knoledge wisdom and humanity succede in his visions inspite of opposition, he is an inspiration to all dynamic INDIANS MAY GOD BLESS INDIA, need someone like him to be in politics.
I salute you Dr. Gharda, you are a true living legend an Unsung hero. Rediff, Please try to bring out more Unsung heros of this kind, dont waste your energy resources on damn shit things abt the other celebrities. That is not going to fetch anything for people like us, i guess most of the people. Dr. Gharda, I wish, i could work under you. However it is not possible, i would like to take inspiration from you. Thanks Rediff for posting such a good interview, infact it was a short biography..:) Regards, Venkatesh USA
I worked for Sandoz when the company purchased 2 hydroxy quionxaline from Dr Gharda. I deny that Sandoz stole any knowhow from him. Further, audited reports will show that Sandoz continued to sell the product made from 2 hydroxy quionxaline and generated greater cash flows than Gujerat Insecticides Ltd. I have known Dr Gharda personally for many years, and am surprised that a person of his stature should resort to falsehoods. By the way, playing with a knife is an old habit of his.

How does it matter? Like they say, never let something as prosaic as the truth getin the way of a good story!
Heart worming interview! I enjoyed his high sense of humour. In India, we do have great talent with high moral values.but one Q. sir, dont you think, if you keep some people to do your household work, you can spend that time for better things, which only you can do , because you are genius? Your evey moment is most valuable for all of us. and dont forget, by doing that, you will be giving employment and food to person/family? smita ankadawala
I had never heard of this man or company. It has been a truly wonderful reading. It is really inspiring. One can easily imagine his knowledge, humour and ofcourse his intelligence. He is leading the Gandhian way of life.
Wonderful Rediff. I hope you write more of such unsung heroes of our country.
This article was so heart warming that I managed to write my first message on rediff!
I am sick of reading useless articles leading to abusive discussions mostly leading to variations in human cultures such as religion(just been killing millions of people over centuries under different names!!) , caste, geography(north/south) which have been created by sick people to cover up their inabilities.
When such idiots start thinking like Mr. Gharda, I dont think they will have time to prophesize such stupid theories that divide people.
I always dream of a world stripped of all these useless variations (funnily i sometimes fantasize of a gadget like the one in the hollywood movie MEN IN BLACK to erase memories of such deterrents of human evolution such as GOD(especially), RACE and CASTE.
With my limited worldly knowledge, one of the ways by which we can erase these divisions is to getting men and women from across these boundaries to cross over and encourage INTER-RELIGIOUS/INTER-RACIAL/INTER-CASTE marriages (whoever believes in it) and slowly but surely removing these disparate shades in culture!
