you can notice his attitude towards his own family, this is the case of all the arrogant self made people. during the growth phase they depend on relatives and later dumb them all and makes a sorry picture of them and tries to degrade each and every one of them. which came first egg or chicken? remains the big question

Absolutely. Mr Shankar Shekharan is right. Mr Keki Gharda should give everything he has to his relatives and then change his name to Keki Gadha.

I agree with you.

Any one who makes money should share
with at least 100 relatives, whether
the relatives are good people or not.

My brother makes about 70,000/month in a software
company. I am making only 20,000/month in public
sector bank.

Me and my brother had big fight last time. I asked him to give me 25,000/month to be fair.

My brother is just bachelor.
Why he need so much money??
Good brother should give all his income
to me, only me elder brother should decide
how much to give it to him.

I wish government would bring a law so that
all the income of an employee should be given
to elder brother of the employee.

Stupid government never understands problems
of elder brothers.

Thank you Rediff and Money Life.

This is a heart warming interview with
a little known Indian and, beyond doubt,
a really superior soul.

May you live long, Dr Keki Gharda, and
fulfill your dreams.

God Bless

Saving grace for Rediff!!
by krishnan js on May 12, 2007 09:24 PM

Once again Rediff has done the "Chasme badoor" act,the good article being the eyecatcher amongst the dudly mundane articles and everyone being positive about it!!People like Dr Gharda need to speak to students, youth just as they step into their profession.Education in institutions never include GUTS,ATTITUDE,ENTREPRENEURSHIP,LEADERSHIP,SMARTNESS,CHEERFULNESS etc.But these could be the main ingredients to success ,and degrees ,studies are only to compliment it.Values also need to be imparted into our educational system. A young man of 77 seemed the correct description!!

Bravo India !
by mukesh thakkar on May 12, 2007 09:09 PM

I admire heros like Keki Gharda, who deserve the real credit for "Mera Bharat Mahaan". Historically, whitemen and MNCs run by them always look down on the people of the third world. It is clearly visible in western countries like USA, Canada, Western Europe(Including UK), Australia........Educated and qualified professionals from countries like India are treated just like illiterate labours migrated to the developed world. Some of the Indians have already outsmarted the natives in USA and UK. What Mittal has done in UK & global steel industry, keki has done it in a different way, challenged the MNCs and outsmarted them. Bravo India. Bravo Keki. All that socialist Indian people needed was a platform to poerform and establish their superiority in the world. Simply by opening up the Indian economy under pressure of IMF owing to near bankruptcy in early nintees, Indians have got the exposure and shown their colours. IT & ITES has done it. People like Keki have done it in isolation. And, now, there is no stopping Indian economy reaching the top 5 level in the years to come. I have seen the reverse trend of Brain Drain. NRIs like Keki have started looking back to India as most potential place for growth. Majority of so called MNCs and giant corporated in the developed countries are looking toward India as the next centre of attraction. Credit goes to Keki, since he outsmarted MNCs inspite of governance. Governance in my opinion is the right of rulers to misbehave and suppress without any logic.

Dr. Gharda & Gharda Chemicals
by rajagopal nambakam on May 12, 2007 08:55 PM

Dr. Gharda's success story is indeed great. Its definitely a rare achievement to fight & cut into the market of MNC's monopoly. Justice Rangarajan gave his bit of support to Dr.Gharda but there are definitely several Gharda's who are not fortunate and do not get such support. Its because more often than not, all over the World, they want solutions for critical problems only from people like Einstein & Max Planck. Thats why we Indians are way behind Western Countries, depending on them for anything & everything and at their mercy for any issue in international level.

i am impressed with your humbleness and the faith you have in your abilities. what adds up is the modesty of saying that you are the trustee of the gift of knowledge! i am far too young to even congratulate you or compliment you but these thoughts are from my heart to a man perhaps looks like my friendly neighbourhood Dada! may all your ambitions and desires be fulfilled thanks for being here in india
