It is a Shame
by DakshinaMoorthy G on Feb 28, 2007 01:10 PM

I think it is a shame to call Rs.1000 as a relief. I wonder how rediff has dared to call this as a real consession. REDIFF please be more practical.

Bad budget for Salaried Class
by Satya V on Feb 28, 2007 01:10 PM

Can anyone tell me why Fin Ministry is very stingy in increasing amounts to be saved under 80ccc..because if you put a band say.. like people below 5lakh income can save upto 2 lakh with some sizable portion in government saving schemes, for 5-10lakh..savings allowed is upto 4 or 5 lakhs.. in short howmuch ever people earn.. instead of stealing money in the form of tax.. why can't they encourage higher saving for higher salaried income.. so that more money is there with government and people are also happy saving..
Infact 30% tax is straight loot.. above that service tax,tax on withdrawals, savings..it turns out be atleast 35-40%..

God give brains to our finance experts to encourage savings so that more money is there with government and people are happy as they are saving money instead of paying taxes!!
