Nothing for a common man
by ramana tammabattula on Feb 28, 2007 01:24 PM

FM could succeed in his last 3 budgets to extact as much as from a common man and distribute to his Co-politicians. Nothing new in this budget as well and is also foolish thought to expect a good budget from this FM

Budget 2007-08
by Muralidharan Mahalingam on Feb 28, 2007 01:24 PM

What is in the budget for the Salaried class ? Nothing special.

Does it make sense to abolish the surcharge on Aviation Turbine Fuel for smaller aircrafts. People like Vijay Mallya don't have to worry anyway

Why not have a flat tax rate for the High Net Worth individuals and the big corporates (Sales Turnover above Rs. 350 Crs. p.a.)

Hope PC takes to this and brings out an amendment

LACK OF EFFORT...
by rajiv kapoor on Feb 28, 2007 01:23 PM

I will summarize this budget as LACK OF EFFORT on part of the govt. I really fail to understand why they are not ready to put some time or effort to find much much better ways of improving the budget both for govt. & people in general.

I have heard his entire budget speech. He has highlighted the categories where he has increased allocation and all. He has even some relief in taxation too.

There r much better alternatives, which should have been though of. Govt. should really focus on increasing the no. of taxpayers (under direct & indirect tax) & trying to streamline the things, rather than increasing or maintaining the high tax rates.

Cant help much though. Anyways, best of luck%u2026

DISCOURAGEMENT BUDJET
by mhd khan on Feb 28, 2007 01:22 PM

This is very poor budjet especially to saried people who are paying the income tax regularly. But for big shots like mallaya groups they can enjoy the budget.

FM Down! Down!, Budjet Down! Down!
