No mercy for salaried class
by Gopinathan Balakrishnan on Feb 28, 2007 01:29 PM  | Hide replies

The FM has once again let down the salaried class who pay their taxes sincerely. Including surcharge and education cess we are being taxed at 33.5% of our total annual income. With the home loans and cost of everyday living prices skyrocketing we cannot make a living in India

Mr Chidambaram, give something back to the salaried class
by Pramod Ramachandran on Feb 28, 2007 01:28 PM  | Hide replies

By not changing the tax limit, FM has underlined his determination to exploit the salaried class. I wonder why I need to pay such a heavy tax if I am not getting any benefits. Western countries levy heavy tax on individuals, but they give them back excellent living standards and social security. Mr FM can you take care of me if I lose my job tomorrow ?

It's a BIG TIME RELIEF for the salaried class!!
by sumit sharma on Feb 28, 2007 01:27 PM  | Hide replies

INR 10 k which works out to INR 1 k is all that the salaried class needs to counter the inflation index as per Mr. Finance Minister.

With the tax collections at an all time high, the least expected was a rationalisation of the existing tax structure but Mr FM seems to have missed the opportunity.

I know that Mr FM would be too busy now to read these blogs but am sure he would do so once this government is voted out of power.

by biswomohan rout on Feb 28, 2007 01:27 PM  | Hide replies

our current FM would impose 33% tax on beggers as thse money are earned without any work(likesomebody earns in KBC).

so how do we the middle class salaried can expect a relief from CHIDAMBARAM.

it is the time for congress govt to go to opposition sheet from the hot one.

Middle class do not work too, and take bribe a lot.

Begggers do a lot of hard work and earn a little.

In fact 33% tax should be imposed on all salaried class and there should not be any tax rebate for them.
