The general budget was really a disapponting one with less prefernce being given to the middle class people, he has just raised the limit for income tax by just 10,000, why he has limit for income should be raised to atleast to 1,50,000.
Increase of tax-free limit by just Rs.10000 in the case of individuals is far below the expectations. The inflation is sky rocketing, essential commodities and services are becoming costlier; expenses on education and health is increasing. In that scenario, a paltry increase of tax-free limit by just Rs.10000 is most disappointing.
There were expectations that harh tax implications of EET - Exempt, Exempt, Tax - that is applicable to investemnts made u/s 80C resulting in taxation of investments on maturity will be removed. In reality, there are no real tax savings for the salaried class.
Service tax was making quite a dent on the income and was responsible in the increase in cost of many services. People expected abolition of service tax. This has not come.
When har earned money is taxed between 10% to 30%, shares or units of equity based funds traded in stcok exchange are exempt from capital gains except Securities Transaction Tax. In what way they are more sacred?
Interest rates are hardening and that is not good for the industry. Increase of investible limits u/s 80C was also expected and that too has not materialised.
In short the Union Finance Minister has failed to address some of the real and valid issues that are affecting the taxpayer.
So everyone praises Laloo and condemns PC. Though Laloo does deserve credit for managing railway well, he was helped, in no small measure, by the exemplary economic growth rate achieved by PC and MMS. Like everyone else, Railways too did good business in a booming economy.
Stop being the selfish middle-class. Let the poorer sections of the socieity too get something. How else can government earn revenue if not by taxing the middle-class and the rich? The tax rates now are low unlike the loot Governments used to make till 5 years ago.
Have a heart. PC n MMS aren't doing all that bad. They cannot please everyone everytime.

Hey Kizhakkethil Venu, I think the CBI and Revenue Intelligence Bureau should watch you. You are a potential politician who can fool anybody and make them feel happy by pilfering their pockets. We know that Brutus like characters exist every where.

I really doubt if you are paying any taxes. who said PC is helping the middle class? He is helping only the business ppl... He has never taken any measure to get them pay the tax. He has not taken any measure to take care of the increase in home loans ... Laloo is faaaar better!!!! Guess, you are a relative of PC and MMS!!! Pls do read all the msgs to know the ppl' cry ....
Hello Sir, Very few percentage are there in our Society who really understands the Impact of Budget.... but every one Understsnds how much he has to pay at the end of the year to Govt. this is totally bullshit giving LOLLYPOP of Increase of Only Rs.10000... Hope to meet you again in coming Election......
The F M appears to me a fool because he does not know whats the trouble a common man is facing. He belongs to the higher strata of the society and therefore the exemption is nothing but a sheer waste of time and energy spent by him. No body is happy and more so the salaried class.
IN MY VIEW NO TAX RELIEF TO SALARIED EMPLOYEES. ONLY THRESHOLD LIMIT OF RS. 10000/- i.e. tax relief of Rs. 1000/-. and cash withdrwal tax limit increased to RS. 50000/-.

Actually there is no relief.E.Cess is increased by 1%.If you calculate that as well, this Rs 1000/- relief may not be available.
Long Live FM.He is extremely good in collecting money from salary class
Nothing is going to happen unless and until the middle class (salaried class) thinks that VOTING is essential for their survival. All this is happening because of negligence of middle class about their voting rights. Congrees is pulling their VOTE(selfish) bank out of their houses and winning the elections. In any constituency mere 50% voters go for voting where there are about 20 candidates. Winner gets 15% of votes( actual 7.5% of total votes) and rules for 5 years.
Give your Vote to any candidate but don't give it Congress at any cost. It's our duty to present the facts before common man(who is being fooled for years). We have to take the initiative now so that atleast our next generation will be free from this type of religion and caste based politics.

I agree. It is time for the middle class slaried people to form an allance who will decide whom to vote for. Every party takes us for granted.
