its been time the middle class wakes up from its slumber & give a befitting reply to the present
& subsequent government to follow.its high time this people stop filling their coffers in the name of development & bring the middle class below the poverty line.the only solution is we the middle class people come out and vote.

unfortunately, the middle class has taken a backseat rather than taking the task at hand in playing a crucial role in defining the government. Many are educated people with good qualifications who detest politics due to its very corrupt and manipulative nature. I cannot remember the figures but the actual % of middle class people that vote is very less as compared to the rural population that vote in India. The governments also know and take advantage of this situation as they clearly understand how to manipulate rural, illeterate masses to suit their goals. They have been doing this since ages and there are more and more young working class who do not want to exercise their right to vote. It is a vicious cycle that will break only when the middle class, the literate people come forth and exercise the power of their vote and raise their voice.

I personally have a PAN card which is registered in Mumbai and I have tried myself, without any success to transfer it to my new residence in Bangalore. But nobody's interested to do that. The netas are weary of the power of the middle class and a day will come when we would step forward.

To the future !

by deepak Sabita on Feb 28, 2007 02:31 PM

I think FM is unaware of problems of a common person he is decreasing AC prices but not the Tax limit for salaried person. This budget is just a waste of time Government should throw this in dustbin.

Ran out of ideas??
by Rudra Prasad on Feb 28, 2007 02:31 PM

looks like PC has ran out of all ideas...

otherwise how will you explain any innovative ways to taking more money from the pockets of salaried class missing from this budget...

Rs.1000/- as tax relief should at least induce self respecting people to resolve to give PC and his party/leader & his allies a sound drubbing.

Use less Budget for Salaried employees
by N Malaviya on Feb 28, 2007 02:29 PM

Its unfortunate that FM does not understand that chunk of taxes are paid only by the salaried individuals not BUSINESS MEN. There is no relief for us.

Hope less BUDGET !!! Lets vote AGAINST CONGRESS IN the coming elections....
