See the irony
by cool guy on Feb 28, 2007 02:42 PM

FM taxes people who earn above Rs.1.1 lacs per annum but does not taxes a crorepati who invest in stock market for a year and earns say 10-20 crore. What an irony and how stupid are these guys taxing someone who cannot earn two times meal and leaving those who don't care for money and this is all because they give money for party fund.

NOT FORWARD LOOKING BUDGET
by SRIRAM IYER on Feb 28, 2007 02:41 PM  | Hide replies

This Budget is once again squeezing the Middle class salaried people.

Instead FM should try to block the loop hole of black money.

they should tell salaried person that he is not allowed to a good living standard!!
by Pooja Chopda on Feb 28, 2007 02:41 PM  | Hide replies

salaried people are being tortured. A person who earns 2lacs pa. will have to forego 90000/- cash for saving tax..or else pay tax of around 15000/- This is even more than his one month's in cash figure...is this fair?

I agree Pooja.

There is a small solution though. Our voice will surely not be heard, so the best thing I could do is relocate to Dubai. At least ,I dont pay any tax. What my monthly salary is what I get in my bank. That helps. Each time, I think about relocating to India, the tax scares me away... Pankaj

budget not suitable for salaried class
by mahesh rao on Feb 28, 2007 02:40 PM  | Hide replies

Hell FM,

time and again the salaried class has been targetted because you very well know that only salaried class can be taxed to the maximum, and the business class has been evading tax. I feel a party for the salaried class needs to be created else , we shall be suffering till the end

while lending their support to this govt. the Leftists have promised that they will act as watchdogs to keep watch on the functionings and policies of the Govt .towards poor and middleclass .
Now even after this onslaught on the interests of these middle class people by this proindustrialistic budget ,they are silent.
Have these watch dogs are taking a nap in this govt.
