Benefit to Women
by Sanjay Verlekar on Feb 28, 2007 03:05 PM  | Hide replies

Raising benefit women is laudable, but what about husbands who do not have working wife. I feel Fm should also consider and give husband the same benefit if the spouse is not working.

It is a good and safe budget.
by Gmail Rediffmail on Feb 28, 2007 03:04 PM  | Hide replies

Congress is going steady in its financial reforms.

Increasing IT limit to 1.5L or 2L does not mean anything.

What if they have increased limit to 1.5L and increased service tax from 12 to 15%
you may have end in paying higher taxes.

This is safe and nuetral budget.

About Mehanghai, Bhai jab agriculture land ki appreciaction 3 saal me double se jyada ho gayee to, khaane peene ki cheez to mehengi hogi na.

Salaried Class Vs. Business Class.
by Narayan Kanti on Feb 28, 2007 03:03 PM  | Hide replies

Take out the stastics A Business man who earns ten times more than the salaried class will pay lesser income tax than the salaried class and his standard of living is so high and unquestionable. Nothing more can be said about this and it is up to the Govt. to decide.

Budget.....................
by Puranam SaratKumar on Feb 28, 2007 03:03 PM

In the history of Indian Budget, this is the worst budget ever. UPA Government Who came in to power saying that the common man's welfare is the main agenda. Now the lower class and the middle class people are the most effected with this budget. Where the 60%-80% of the salaries have been paid in way taxes from dawn to dask.

What is the use of giving "No Duty on Coking Coal " and these kind of subsidies do not make increase the per capital income of the common man.

Mr. Finance Minister, please come in the streets of India and prepare the budget instead of seating in the AC rooms

Make us True Gandhi
by srini krishnan on Feb 28, 2007 03:03 PM  | Hide replies

Welcome Mr.Chidambaram. We are happy that you have made an "incision with surgical precision".
After all every Congress party member wanted the people of India to live a simple life. YOU ARE GOING TO ACHIEVE IT!!!. Make every citizen a Gandhi - make him wear a loin cloth, make him eat a handful of ground nut twice a day for food, train him make his own footwear and clothes, train him walk distances than going by public conveyance; make the normal citizen mentally handicapped and give tax holidays to billionaires to build five star hotels for entertaining simple ministers and MPs. Give subsidy for pet food and increase taxes for infant feeds so that family planning will be a success. Ask the 100 crore people to buy dredgers for daily use and diamonds to wear on the loin cloth made of polyester fibre. Ask them to buy defective steel utensils to cook. We need your service to mankind for another 1000 years.

Huge amounts have been allocated for the betterment of educational oppurtunities to the "socially backward class" inspite of huge amounts of reservations for them now even in IITs and IIMs. And who will pay for that....the so called socially advantageous group who are losing jobs and educational oppurtunities!!!!!
