Budget 2007
by ashok ramchandani on Feb 28, 2007 03:51 PM  | Hide replies

Current FM is yet to understand pulse of the masses, not the pulse of votebank , which has become a comodity to be purchased at a cost.
Majority of the people earn less then Rs 110000 & a part ,do not get affected as they earn a lot.
Now the balance in minority (middle class) on salary gets the burns for which no FM has ever bothered , irrespective of political party he belongs to.
Here I feel sorry for being born in INDIA , a place once called " SONE KI CHIRIYA ".
REGARDS F. MINISTER JI May God bless YOU with WISDOM TO DO JUSTICE with all.

Congress should count their days from now. Punjab and Uttaranchal has given a small dose. Remaining part of the country will give a strong dose.
God bless P Chidambaram.

Budgets dont tackle the issue of black money
by Sincere Citizen on Feb 28, 2007 03:51 PM  | Hide replies

All these budgets never tackle the issue of black money. None of the FM's has given any good soultion to tackle black money. They just keep on hitting the salaried class.
Almost all current politicians, builders, industrialists , actors have hordes of black money. Its probably more than the total white money shown in the budget.

Budget: What it means to an aam aadmi??
by Meghna Tripathi on Feb 28, 2007 03:50 PM  | Hide replies

Now what is a budget to an aam aadmi? If you are in a majority and thus an aam aadmi, to you budget (read monthly budget) would be something like this:

Roti (Ration/ pani) : Rs. 5 - 7000/-
Makan (rental etc.) : Rs. 7 - 9000/-
Bijli ( water telephone) : Rs. 3 - 4000/-
Dawai (medical) : Rs. 1 - 2000/-
Padai (education cost for two): Rs. 5 - 7000/-
Sadak (tranportation) : Rs. 2 - 3000/-

Total (monthly) budget : Rs. 23000/- to Rs. 32000/-)

This is what are compulsory and minimum expenses. Now even if you are to leave out the optionals (of minimum Rs. 5000/- monthly expenses on clothing/ outings/ holidays / car maintenance etc.), then you are still left with an annual expenses (read budget) of Rs. 2,50,000/- at the minimum and that with a family of four only!

Thereafter, to repeat, if you an aam aadmi, are you left with anything to pay??? Then, is there any point in taxing someone with an income >Rs.2,50,000/- p.a.??!! Chidambaram must consider this as well! Sometimes, atleast!!

Also the tax should not be the same in all the states. For example, the living cost in Bangalore is much higher than in Kolkata.

Ohhhh GOD!!!
I never thought on these lines...
The exemption limit shouldnt be 1,10,000 but it should atleast be 2,50,000.
Kudos to Meghna for such calculations!!
Someone needs to pay attention to this!!

OHH God!!! Isn't it amazing? What a revelation? The ten commandments weren't as revelatory. Kudos to both you and Meghna for coming up with such absurd calculations and actually commending them shamelessly. I think, you guys are not 'aam aadmis' but simply 'aams'. READ: Fruity fools. In the country you live in, most people don't make more than 40000 Rs a year and they do have families. Morons!!!

We salaried persons suffer at the hands of the government. Only around 3% of our population is tax payer. And majority among that minority is salaried class.
I have created a group named Salaried in connexions.
We use this platform to share our views and grouse against government.
