Farmers are a huge burden
by Anand Krish on Feb 28, 2007 05:57 PM  | Hide replies

to our country. They are dragging India down. Most of our taxes goes to them . They get everything free ... power, fertilzier, food , assured minimum wage - never mind whether they work or sleep, loans that never have to be repid, they are never taxed, they are pampered. While we urban people slog and pay tax through our nose.

Around 70 crores are involved in agriculture in India. This is a joke. While in USA only 1 crore is involved in agriculture and they produce 10 times the food as India. I think we should stop this non sense.

I am sorry to hear this. I believe you are not aware about the ground situation. Most of the taxes do not go to them , they go in government salaries and expenditures and moreover in schemes for poor people; not directly related targeted to farmers. In most states power is not free, nor is fertiliser, nor is food or any minimum wage either(for that also one has to toil for 12 hours in the sun). They do not sleep, they do not have the necessary resources for investing a lot of money in farming, that is why they have to take loans, they are not able to pay because of uncertainity of produce; may be due to less rain or drought, nor are the prices of their sure. They are just not pampered, just look at the amount of subsidies they provide in USA, we are nowhere close to them and there also it is paid from taxpayers money. only rich people do not have the exclusive right over the resources of a country, they belong to everyone, whether rich or poor. resources need to be distributed for overall development of the nation. Had the farmers been a pampered lot, they would not have committed suicide due to poverty or nonpayment of loans; how many suicides do we hear from urban lot due to poverty; rare. Just because there are ample oppurtunities in urban India, urban people are able to get along with one or the other job. But there is a sheer lack of oppurtunities in rural India, this is the main cause of poverty. Government should try and create ample oppurtunities for the rural people as it is creating for the urban people. this country is for everyone and every citizen has an equal right to live a decent life.

No change for middle class tax paying peoples.
They cannot purchase their own home. Only they will try to educate their kids and will dream about four wheelers.

CHIDAMBARAM - THE ENEMY FOR MIDDLE CLASS - THE WORST FM - NOT FIT FOR JOB
by venkatesan ellappan on Feb 28, 2007 05:55 PM  | Hide replies

THIS IS THE WORST BUDGET GIVEN BY CHIDAMBARAM. HE HAS NOT DONE ANY THING FOR HIS OWN CONSTITUENCY ( SIVAGANGA ), ITS FOOLISH ON OUR PART THAT HE'LL DO SOMETHING FOR THE COUNTRY. MR.FM, YOU CAN TAKE LESSONS FROM LALU. ALSO SOMEONE HAS TO TEACH CHIDAMBARAM ABOUT INFLATION AND HOW TO CONTROL THAT.

Budget with some proposals
by vinod jain on Feb 28, 2007 04:59 PM | Hide replies | Hide message

Well,I have tried to read some of the articles posted here.My view is that overall the bugdet focus seems on education, defence building and infrastruture developement. It is a difficult task for any FM to please all the people of society. But definately he need to address the issues on individuals taxation. All the salaried classes in private and public sector are suffering due to high overall tax impact on thier earnings in various forms of taxes.
Similiarly the FM could have shown cofidence in the industry by rewarding them for better tax payments and compliances by reducing the tax rates.Over all 5/10.

Why you guys so much worried about paying tax? Lets pay more tax, thats the way to grow.

Lots of people in India are still not having basic needs and they are in below poverty line. Atleast we have a job to survie and secure life, so we should not hesitate to pay tax.

Message to ''Salaried Class''
by Anand Krish on Feb 28, 2007 05:52 PM  | Hide replies

Why are you always cribbing that salaried class is being squeezed? After all aren't you leading a secure life with assured pay checks everymonth?. Understood that businessmen can first spend the money and then pay tax - while you pay tax first and then spend. But businessmen is taking risks and is after all paying the salary to the salaried class.

afterall we know what these ministers are good for. The Fm has done his ritual, and pleased some people, which he knows very well. Does he ever care for salaried, agricultural people etc? Just suffer, thats it.

How cynical attitude. Loot tax payers money and put in swiss bank or use for election. What is the tax does Chidambaram and his party leaders pay none. Most of them doesn't provide right picture about their earnings and property. They cheat India and public. Altimately ordinary person is going to suffer.
