Mr Ambani, you are already a legend in your lifetime and whatever I say may be a repetition but I thought I will still write what I think of you and your contribution.
People in India started understanding the meaning of the word "Backward Integration" only after you effectively practised it. You have shown clear glimpses of being a visionary who always remained a few steps ahead of time; be it Petroleum, Refinery, Reliance Telecom or the upcoming Reliance Retail of yours. You have also proven yourself as a person who, with his team, can ensure effective and timely implementation of any project. In fact, the business division between you and your brother was also admirable for its crispness, quickness and clarity. You have so far successfuly carried forward the legacy that your father created and you continue to make money not only for yourself but for your millions of shareholders too. While you may not have been as flambuoyant as your brother but you had been mighty effective.
While these are your undeniable qualities and will alway hold you in very high esteem, May i also spoil the party by asking an uncomfortable question? Why is Reliance work culture not changing and why is it still continued to be viewed as a company which pays well but is not a great place to work? While you may plainly deny this, let me share that this is surely the "perception" and needless to say, perception does matter. Reliance is still viewed as "70-hour a week" company and is not appreciated for this fact. I know of many people who have not taken offers with Reliance for this reason.
Change this Mr Ambani and you will take yourself and your company to a different level.
