No,we don't need more IITs...It is true that the competition in the JEE is fierce but that is becoz the IITs are exclusive.Just because ppl don't manage to get into the IITs thier number should not be increased..
NO, we dont need any more IIT. ALready we have enough IIT. The status of IIT will go down . IN doing this the govement will destroy the name "IIT". the tag of "iit" will become less significant
Yes we do need to increase the IITs and not overpopulate the existing ones with ever increasing intake. India a country of one billion people does require more places of technical education exellence which is embodied by IITs. Needless to mention that this enhancement should not be at the cost of Quality.
Looking at the standard of other colleges like DA-IICT AND JAYPEE university,i think that the system of education in the IIT'S should be improved rather than increasing their number.
The system of selection should also be improved keeping in mind that even though the IITIANS are selected through a rigorous process, many of them also have backs in the semester exams. There are no chip designing labs in any of the labs except the kharagpur one.
THE NED Of THE HOUR IS TO ESTABLISH 15 MORE COLLEGES LIKE THE BANARAS HINDU UNIV. WHERE THE ENGINEERING AND MEDICAL GOES TOGETHER.More medical colleges are to be established. The standard of education in the RECs are to be established.By system i mean instead of cramming the lecturer's notes the top of the line boks should be recommended to students to improve their aptitude.
We have enough infrastructure to get more IITs and we need more IITians as the quality and confidence of education makes some good entrepreneurs. We need some good entrepreneursfor developemnt of our country.
More IIT's???No way is my answer! Why doesn't the government try and utilize that money by making other colleges a bit better, upto atleast REC status. And a review of the subject's being taught to us in the first year would not hurt either! Why do I have to mug up Civil engineering answer's when I want to be a mechanical engineer and have my stream as mechanical!!!!Why doesn't the government increase the no. of engineering college's(non IIT's)and help the other student's.Even getting 95% in 12th doesn't mean I get the wished stream in the college I want!Isn't that worth spending money on???
