Guru Purnima is a holy process of celebration in which Guru makes his disciple Purna (complete). This is the only aim of every humanbeing to get Self Realisation and Self Stablisation in other words the avastha of Moksha. How many of us working on this apart from the material life. Today we can ask ourself honestly and start the journey towards attaining the Truth. Thanks
I was really surprised to find a blog on GuruPurnima on rediff...It is good to know that atleast a few of us still know about the sanctity of GuruPurnima...
Guru-Shishya parampara is the basis of our Dharma. It is such a sacred relationship. Gurupurnima is the day to offer Gratitude to Guru. By Guru, we mean Guru Principle. The best way to offer our Gratitude is to take part in Guru's mission... which is Spread of Spirituality ..ie... establishing the kingdom of Righteousness... Let us all try to offer Gratitude in this manner...
is also known as Vyasa Poornima, after the renowned param Guru Srila Vyasadeva, who has given us the Vedas and Bhagwatam to impart spiritual knowledge into us and dispell the darkness of repeated birth and death. All glories to Srila Vyasadeva and my humble obeisances unto Him.
Who is a Guru?....Guru is one who gives Guri, concentration. This is the explanation given by one of the greatest saints of Bharat Varsha, Shri.Ramana Maharshi

Guru means one who removes darkness.
One must not confuse a Guru with a teacher. Guru is specifically meant for imparting SPIRITUAL knowledge. He explains the disciple the difference between matter and spirit and what is the real aim of human birth. That is the real meaning of a guru i.e. one who removes darkness of life which is repeated birth and death.
Whereas school and college teachers impart material knowledge like physics and chemistry and cannot be called Guru in true sense.
