Valentine's day gained popularity and became known in the campuses of India only after late 1990s.Even now most of the guys and girls only knows that valentine's day is something related to love but not its real story and what is it meant for.I am not against celebrating any days. Its every citizen's right to practice what he wants. But still when you overstate and exagerate things beyond proportions it really looks bad... If you want to celebrate ,well go ahead and celebrate but dont mock others who arent doing the same as you are.. Actually in west "Valentine day" is an off and it is on this day that many western churches of both protestants & Catholic celebrate in the memory of many saints...It is the MNCs who manufacture greeting cards who brought Valentine day to India. In west tehy have special days commemorating Father,Mother,Children,Teacher etc due to their life style ie people leave their parents and live seperately very early in life(at 12 or 13).But in India things are completely different and 99% of the people continue to live with their parents until they are independent. And even after being independents we share our special ocations with parents and dear ones.So we dont celebrate any of these days. But for valentine's day has some mystery and excitement attached with it and people especially teenagers and college students celebrate it here

Better yet... Give you'r parents a beautiful pesent, the first thing in the morning and say out loudly "I love you guys. You're awesome!" and then move on to you gf in the day.... Thats the whole point of Val's D anyways... I do it everytime and my parents appreciate that. My guess is... anyone will...
After all, we actually dont need a special occasion to say "I Love You" to someone... But If we have one more... make the best use of it... Spread love... Its possibly the only thing that keeps us jovial! :)
we swear, we swear-no valentine,no valentine if observe, we will be swine, we will be swine! this occassion, is not mine, is not mine west culture addicted to wine, addicted to wine! without it youth can shine, youth can shine ban it, ban it, it will be fine, it will be fine! no valentine,no valentine, no valentine it's not mine, it’s not mine, it’s not mine!

Its a celebration of human feelings. "Humans" use this day to propagate this feeling among fellow-humans. I hope you are human enough to understand this. Please get out of this east-west mentality. Diwali is already celebrated in US by many even the NYSE putting up diwas.

You mean to say Indians were not Humans before this practice started here. Are you a "Human"..? But what about your parents..?.Valentine's day gained popularity and became known in the campuses of India only after late 1990s.Even now most of the guys and girls only knows that valentine's day is something related to love but not its real story and what is it meant for.I am not against celebrating any days. Its every citizen's right to practice what he wants. But still when you overstate and exagerate things beyond proportions it really looks bad... by whom in USA , diwali is being celebrated? by American ? yeah?? don't compare Diwali, the sacred festival with ur lustful occasion like valentine day which r destroying the youth and their mind! now due to the influence of such bad culture in our society, youth r showing less respect to their parents! i will recommend to stop all internet access also where the friendship tie up is made for sex! likew middle east these internet freindship access sites should be "probhited site" for betterment of our society!

I pity you lady cos you can see life only from a negative mindframe. All western is not bad just like all eastern is not good. We have accepted some good western culture into our system and likewise they of ours. I am sure the basic shirt and pant is not an Indian outfit but a western design which most Indians wear now. Expression of love in terms of V. day is very mild compared to our traditional expression of love documented in the Kamasutra or the sculptures on our ancient Heritage site, which we are pround of. So lady, time for you to look at the positive side of the world than the negative for each and everything. Believe me, I am still proud to call myself an Indian for the progress it is making and want the world to admire it but ashamed of fellow men who want to Talibanize India. So, once again, think positive my dear lady :)

hello angel, it is not to be feel proud by thinking a negative thing as positive from ur ultramodern sick mindframe!try to accept that what is bad, remains bad and yes, of course , how u use it depends! valentine day is being used as a permission to make illicit sex & nothing else!if u r in this world living, this common sense u shud have! i pity of u such lady who r telling in support of it! well i will not tell much in this regard as i think u have got ur suitable reply from my other two fellow blogger!

we r happy with our culture and truly proud of it! shirt and pant we wear and not bear with our soul but festival, occassion, culture r mixed with soul, don't be so immature to mix language, shirt , pant with our culture! this is true and proved here that who r converted, their liability is shifted to western because they want to show those as theirselves! and so, the rich scritures r compared with valentine! how pity of u! kamasutra is a science and book! u can learn out of it and nobody has told u that to observe a day for kamasutra as u r advocating for valentine1 nude scripture or anything like these r all the art and there also nobody has told u to be naked as the scripture! but valentine and like internet access etc push the youth to go for illicit sex! come out from such sick mentality and advocate for banning such unculture rather advocating for them shamelessly if u r truly to be proud as an indian!

That was a good point that you made Mamata. For everything there is a perspective and you really did put kamasutra in its best perspective possible.Really i admire you eloquence.NOW.Try looking at Valentines from the same perspective rather than a biased one that you seem to be stranded upon.Life is all about how we can extract positives and love from everything possible not hatered and disharmony.Hope you will think about this.
he had planned to spend a day at my house so i decorated the entire floor of my drawing room with floor and filled the complete floor with heart shaped baloons, and wrote a message for her on each of the ballon. then i had also kept flower petals on the celing fan, i askd her to switch on the fan and when switched it on she recevied a shower of flower petals on her, thats was the time i proposed her. I think she will not forget this moment in her entire life. Though we are not together now i still love her
