The dosa walla at Ghatkopar, khau galli is the best! One thing, it sells dosa on the gadi but the rates are the same as that of in restaurant. The most cheap dosa is for Rs 15/- nd the cosliest is Rs 45/-. The turn over per day is around Rs 15,000/- nd even more on Sundays.
As u know, Surat is famous for its food. In Surat near Katargam, for just Rs.10 you will get 3 pav wada with sweet and spicy chatney and green chilies. I bet no where you will get this kind of pav vada in India.
According to me & I am sure many Mumbaikars will vouch for it, the best street food can be found in localities dominated by Gujrathis. The lane opposite Matunga Central station offers Pani Puri, Ragda Pattice, Dabeli, Sandwhich, Bhel, Sev Puri, Kerala Wafers, etc all within a distance of 20-25 feet. Pani Puri comes at Rs. 10. Dabeli costs Rs.6. Have eaten there since childhood & never had any gatric accidents. Go there & eat out pocket out.
I once tasted some great dishes at Kaka's Corner near Ghantali Mandir at Thane (W). I and 4 of my friends ate Cheese Garlic Bread, Pav Bhaji, Misal, Sandwiches, Lassi etc. Take my word it was fabulous. My friends visited it many times after that. I too will go there again when I will go to Thane. It is a newly started fast food joint but a great one.
Location: Next to Ghantali Mandir, Naupada, Thane (W) All rates are between 15-25
