What are the extremes of human resistance? How much suffering can one endure and still come out as a success? "Its not about the bike" - Lance Armstrong's story about his fight with cancer is an inspriational tale which tells us how he came to terms with the deadly disease and fought it with single minded objective: TO SURVIVE AND WIN. Doctor's gave him a 5% chance of survival, Still he defeats the disease and goes on to become the world champion cyclist who won the toughest "TOUR DE FRANCE" five times in succession. Compared to the odds Lance endured, the problems we face in our everyday life seem very normal and require only a little mental toughness to withstand. Lance's tale is an inspiration to anyone who aspires to be tough - mentally! Another book which falls into the same category is "Papillon" by Henri Charriere.
Book: The Alchemist Author: Paul Coelho Why it inspired me: The book describes how and why one should follow one's dreams and that there's lot of meaning in doing so.

Very true, its an Amazing book, and the statement seems very very true, the whole world conspires to make it happen.
Well i'm a 20 year old and i had heard a lot about this book from friends and all...Then one day a friend of mine gave this book to me and told me to read it..I started reading it and was so engrossed in it that I completed the whole book in one night..It was just awesome..SOme of the statements like "You just need to take the first step towards your goal and then the entire universe conspires in helping you achieve that goal..." Its just so true..This book has loads of wisdom n common sense framed in the simplest manner possible..Another concept that i liked was of "Beginner's luck"...These are such simple facts and yet they make such a huge impact..I guess its a must read for any youngster who wants to achieves his dreams at any cost and is crazy about them...
I read a lot but rarely fiction - mostly newpaper stuff the inside pages, Front pages are fiction you know :-)
Books, i may read one/two every year. In 2006 I got to read an old book from 1985. Still very true.
The book is titled "What they dont teach you at Harvard Business School" by Mark McCormack. Very simple and effective. If you are open minded, this book should help you to improve your performace.
the most inspirational book i ve read this year is 5 point someone. it is not a motivatin book but it motivated me in other way. it motivated me to get into an IIT...
Offlate,'The Greatness Guide' by Robin Sharma has really inspired me a lot.
It is so because of the way in which he has expressed certain things.
To cite an example, he mentions that it is not neccesary to read all the books that one buys, it is enough if you read things which really impresses you.I appreciated this view as this is something I do.
Apart from that, having those holy hours in the morning, getting up early are things which we all know but it requires those printed words to remind us daily and inspire you all through.
I read some of the chapters in his book on a continuous to get myself inspired and not to forget those words of wisdom.
The beauty of it all is that he expresses everything in a very simple style.
The Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. The book still stands a class apart. It symbolises love - both possessive which destroys the carrier and spiritual, which transcends rhyme and reason.
It made me realise and still does that love is the most beautiful gift of feeling given to us. It immortalised LOVE.
