Given an opportunity to these lower classes, their level of living and thinking has not improved. reservation is just waste. This guy has lost self respect so asking for reservation for Brahmins. Brahmins have emerged at their own and will remain at the top forever.

Our gujrat has prospered under modi bhai like anything....we love him and he will create a record by becoming the 3RD CM IN A ROW and as far as some one becoming terrorists its there problems...they will be killed like stray dogs...
Guys. Generally there is a feel that all brahmins are educated and financially strong. This is not true really. Also reservation is a privellege not begging. There are so many brahmin families in village and small towns who struggle hard for their suvival and eventhough they score 85-90% (Minimum) in 12std but they don't get the required course to study. People who are economically strong can go for self financed college. Economically weaker struggle hard, study something which they are not interested (kind of forced to study). Due to quota system all the other cast folks get into college without much diffculty. Does this mean Brahmins who is economically weaker and doesn't have strong background to support have to suffer for life. S.Ve.Shekar open in his thoughts and he is doing the right thing. Mr.Shekar is 100% correct.
There are lots of people who have a mistaken impression about reservation guys who get into the IIMS.........
Unlike the reservation guys who get into engineering institutes, the rreserved bracket guys who get into the IIMs are actually quite good and among those communities, they are the brightest!! Most of them can cope with the rigors of IIM education and end up doing reasonably well......
The minority that flunks mainly comes from the NT/DT community and not the SC/ST or OBC bracket...
Many of them are so bright that they do better than open category guys and also end up with better jobs..
Though it has to be said that most toppers come from the open bracket...when i passed out of IIM Calcutta, the top 30 guys were all from the open bracket.......not even one of them was from the reserved bracket!!
I hav tried to be as dispassionate and as neutral as i could possibly be.....Though reservation percentage and the creamy layer need to be dispensed with as asson as possible for a more competitive environment in the IIMs.....

first of all good to note that u r iim alumni... but there are many courses... u should see the situation that acts itself out during the admissions... students who read day and night and get good rank do not get admission whereas someone with a very high rank just walks in and can select course/college of choice. this is pathetic and depressing. u cannot right the wrong with a blunder... u cannot right the wrong with a blunder... ultimately quality is suffering... by all means provide ALL possible help for a student to study and get a good rank but don't discriminate at the time of admission

Stop this crap!
There is a difference in getting 99 percentile and 85-90 percentile in CAT!
I can score 90 percentile even in my sleep! The truth is that I did not get admission into an IIM with 99.2 percentile and two SC friends of mine got with 80 and 85 percentile respectively!
They also did BE from REC through quota!
Reservations is the worst form of social inequality of modern times!

First of all, if you had got 99.2 percentile, you would have got in.....also, SC/ST guys do not get in at such low percentiles....confirm this with IMS.........

Reserved category guy could not able to cope with the open under any fields....
if we were to progress, we should be talking of removing reservations for all and no new reservations should be encouraged. Let people and communities learn to earn a living with respect and not at the cost of others. Let people learn to earn economic independence and social respectability. Politicians have played dirty tricks of reservation with a number of casts and communities for their political gains and that has affected the social fabric of the country so badly that even most prosperous communities started demanding reservations. Leaders like Arjun Singh who made billions by plying cast and reservation card has played with the lives of millions of students by introducing a totally mind-less policy for reservations into education system. What these leaders will gain by diving communities? such leadership will do more harm to the country rather than any thing good or constructive. Agreed, many brahmins are leading a life of neglect and suffer, but that doesn't mean they should get reservation. let us find alternatives to facilitate progress and prosperity of a particular community and reservation is surely not an answer. people should strongly oppose the evil designs of reservations drawn by politicians for their own advancements.
Todays reservation is only for SWARAN SC/ST etc., needy in SC/ST are in very bad shape. Govt. must ensure employment to everyone at least Rs.100 per day instead of increasing the salaries of Govt. servants and taking care of lpoliticians.
