Now-a-days brahmins can't think about Government jobs. They can only dream. That's the situation. By giving excess importance to other Backward Communities, now brahmin become the backward community in terms of opportunity. It's true.

reservation in govt jobs
by bharat tiwari on Mar 31, 2009 04:09 PM  | Hide replies

more than 60 yers have gone since independent but will this reservation continue for ever. i think now this reservation should stop.and only ability.should be the criteria of selection.else reservation should be based on financial status rather than on caste.after all every living being has right to live and meet the minimum basic need of life.now reservation has become unjuctice for upper class.

Vinod I have seen people of brahmin decent who are so poor that do household work. What you think and not get money that is being stolen from this nation and not use for development. Why do have lack of schools, college and university that of the so little seat availble that we must fight amougst ourselves for seat while educated people go abroad for the lack of job, placement because these politicians only interest is loot public and how too steal.

These damn politician and babus who loot the public schemes which never benefit public only their pockets is their achivement. Why you weakling are afraid of Politician, and Babus and are after minority called brahmin.

Therefor again quit accuseing brahmins of any thing, those that are educated know brahmin is that is truthful, beneovlent(selfless) and other good qualities. Those who know the qualification to be brahmin would not insult brahmin because such things are respectable. Nor should we think that anyone work is unimportant, by filling ourself nonsence of the british, who destroyed the Hindu education system which made made India number one country of its time and the role of brahmin as teacher not pandit. Again there in Hindu education decent brahmin not a brahmin.

In Hindu dharma brahmins must have the qualties of brahmin otherwise they are not brahmins. Warrior the quality of warriors. Business, trade class those qualities and last labour its qualities. No work is unimportant. All has its importance.

Reservation for Brahmins
by Mandalika Murthy on Mar 31, 2009 04:08 PM  | Hide replies

Reservations at one time are necessary, but no longer. They produced, even among the reserved communities, two classes viz., rich and poor. People who enjoyed the privilege of reservation and became rich and influential continue to hold on and they don't want to share it with the lesser fortunate people in the same community by relinquishing the privilege.Their children are in a better position to compete in life with a much head start than the majority poor in the same community, by way of education, better coaching and standard of life. Poor continue to be in the lower strata of society, except a few exceptions.
With a vast majority of population on the poverty line, every caste and every community has a majority of poor and backwards among them.
So, it is time to discard reservations on the basis of caste or community and take economic standards as criterion. Even then it should encourage people to strive and come up rather than vegetate and live with doles given.

Raj is right; Create Industry and Jobs for people Locally
by RAVINDRA on Mar 31, 2009 04:07 PM

Every one criticses Raj thackery; Ok Nation is one. The Law of the Nation allows freedom of work, expression and movement. But Bihar cant even craete Industry and jobs so that people dont have to move for Rs3000- Rs 5000/- Per month. No body wants to move for this small sum but states like Bihar, Orissa, part of MP and Up have done nothing to allevaiate suffering of their people. If MS and Gujrat have done, they have the right leaders, the right choice; whu Bihar still does not ahve engineering colleges in private sector; mafia will kill you if you go there to establish an Institute; Boys and girls from Bihar come to MP, punjab for education; the state loses reveenue to other states; why dont they see it;
I am a north Indian but what have we done in UP, MP, Bihar, CG, Orissa; compare it with PB, HR, MS, GJ and see for yourself

by FINGER on Mar 31, 2009 04:06 PM  | Hide replies

Need not require any reservation to Brahmin, though in the present scenario few brahmin can wish to get this but not require. Brahmin direct to the society/ country by thier own knowledge, brahmin get the job by thier own merit own skill. Brahmin don't want any reservation BRAHMIN WANT ONLY FAIR CONTEST, BRAHMIN WANT COMPETITION ON KNOWLEDGE BASIS.

Time and again brahmins proved that they survive any kind of onslaught, let alone reservations. Brahmins these days, by and large, are averse to go in for government jobs.
They have an aversion even to accept freebies
from the government.

rediff shud be held responsible for publishing such a silly interview.
when obcs r given reservation all the upper caste students in aiims went on a protest .
but when a brahmin is askin for reservation openly those same upper caste students dont open their mouth.
reservations were given coz sme people werent equal opportunities like education, housing, drinking water. so there is no way they wud compete with the upper caste convent educated children.
but why do upper caste ppl need reservation.
it shud be condemned nd good supreme court gave the ruling in favour of obcs in aiims reservation.
same way this candidate will lose his polls

Boss..reservation should be based on economic criteria..not on caste..there are many rich BC's and MBCs who are usurping deserving poor people's chances..thats the point..

Not all upper cast people are convent educated. Forget about convent, for many so called upper cast families in the villages, the annual income is less than 30000. Why should these people be discriminated when the creamy layer for OBCs is 5,00,000 a year.
